This law applies to those under 26 years of age who find a
new job. It gives the employer the right to terminate the
new hire’s employment within two years without having to
give any reason. Under French law, the employer has only a
month to terminate the employment of a new employee who is
26 or older without having to provide a reason. After that,
French labor law provides protection for the employee so
that employment isn’t ended without objective cause.

The french governement is trying to do something, maybe it
won’t work, but it’s better to try than to sit waiting
for a miracle!

I can be terminated at any moment without explanation. It's
not so bad...

its a bollocks law. there is a problem with low employment
in young people, but this isnt the way to go around solving
it. (although i have no suggestions of my own.....)

every private company i've ever worked for has been
'employment at will' which means they can fire me or i can
leave for any reason. with no notice.

i was laid off (or 'made redundant') from 2 of those jobs.
actually each of the 3 times i was laid off, it was on the
same day, May 15th, 3 years in a row.

could be a good law if the delay was of let's say six
mounths and if employees get a good protection.

Ok, the law is really stoopid, but it is not a reason for
blocking accesses to the universities....
They should go to Asemblée Nationale or to Matignon
instead

The law is stoopid how? I think its stupid that employers
can't fire people when they want to. Businesses aren't
charities.

someone died in my university thursday night... so the
university is closed and the police is investigating
inside... apparently it was a heart attack.

and today there was an explosion in a chemistry university
in the region. someone died and several people are injured
or missing.

Thats a pretty brutal law. They passed a labour law in my
province a few years back that allowed them to pay anybody
who doesn't have less than one year work experience $2 less
than the minimum wage. It was pretty awfull. A lot of people
wouldn't be able to make enough to cover rent and living
expenses.

Governments need to help the small busniess owner. Not be a
thorn in their side. Business need to remain competative.
