Along the right lines?. A friend wants a grime track for Friday.
Will this sort of thing do? I don't know if it is menacing
enough.

Cheers.

Thanks for listening! I take all things people have to say
seriously. If your interested go over to MySpace and listen
to my new hiphop track about my girlfriend and altered beast
remix with nerdcore extracts!

I'm no grime afficinonado, but I think it's too spacey and
electro sounding. could make a good choon thoug, but I
wouldn't file it under grime

You're right, it's not grime. Back to the drawing board.

Not Grime either. That is all :)

G'night :P

nice try. theres basically too much going on

make it slow, darker and more powerful,
make the drum have a simple very rhythm, with a fuller, more
powerful snare (slightly reverbed if you like).

repeat the sounds, make it reptitive and hypnotic,

make the bass more defined.

I think you're more going into the direction of dubstep.
right now it doesn't have a bassline. instead you have
atmospherics with lots of low end.I guess that could work.
but the drums aren't to good. if you want grime take a
square-ish sounding bass sound and make a really melodic
bassline.

didn't you quit making music btw?

Yeah I did quit but it's like a crack habit, I lapse every
so often.

I didn't notice the drums clipping last night. I think I
will carry on with this one though and fuck the grime
because I like the atmosphere.

Bah, the A-side is loads better if you ask me. And neither
of them is grime, really :)

I like the sample, reminds me slightly of shackleton's
dubstep stuff, a bit more complex than yer average beat
programming. Needs some kind of nice hypnotic loop to draw
you in though, throw in a mighty bass and some subtle dubby
touches and this could be tasty. Finish it fer fuck's sake!

Like vlari I think that first clip could be a cool track,
but it's not really grime yet. It needs more
filter-modulated bass love :D

I'm gonna be a minor cunt and link you up with a
grimey tune I did once and hope it might serve some
inspiration or something :p

Doesnt really get my juices flowing any of it, to be honest.
Sorry.

Thanks for the comments peeps.

impakt: Excellent as always...it wasn't as dark in mood as I
normally like but it was enjoyable none the less.

When I get a chance to go back to pissing about with the
track I will look at doing some funky heavy bassness.

this is not grimey at all..... the snares are even , no
jumpy stop-start beats. .. there is no sub-bass... sounds
okay , just more like an odd elektro track! get some swing
in there foo

If I could edit the title I would call it odd elektroish
help. Thanks for the listen.
