So I've heard most of this now......... it's all detuned
guitars, layers and tape effects, very simple..........
"cute" in a way......... similar to 'Fi' in overall
sound.........

Sunday morning music.

hey so it came up in another thread but if you're interested
a new bibio album and ep are coming in summer...

Mush Records' Black Country bard, Bibio, has completed work
on his third full-length effort, Vignetting The Compost. The
album will feel familiar to fans of Bibio's earlier work
with its use of intricate layers of guitar work and
delicious chunks of analog tape noise. Bibio continues to
add vocals to his songs on this album, as he did on previous
release Hand Cranked, and the effect is nothing short of
stunning. In addition to the new full-length, Bibio has
created a new EP entitled Ovals And Emeralds. Taking a
different approach from his full-lengths, the overall sound
on Ovals And Emeralds has a sonic reminiscence of old
carnival and circus instruments. One imagines pump organs,
calliopes, and player pianos which are achieved by
manipulating his own array of instrumentation including
flutes, recorders, pianos, a cavaquinho as well as
unrecognizable tape loop collages, all treated in the
signature Bibio method, giving them an etherial and often
eerie quality. Both releases will be available in the middle
of 2008.

yeah me too. i usually dont care for vocals too much with
this stuff but i really liked that song with vocals on hand
cranked so maybe there'll be more in that vein.

yeah cool!

i've been listening to some Simon and Garfunkel recently and
this reminds of their sound (in a good way!)

so by now you've probably noticed that the bibio album
didn't come out until this month, and the ep has not yet
been released.

so...anyone heard the new album? i haven't got it yet.

there wasn't a breakbeat, dnb sped up reggae sample,
perverted song title, or any connection to AFX in his
work... how can you trainspotters even possibly like it?

Seriously though, Bibio does deserve credit for getting
where he is today. I think he produces quality music but I
have to be in the acoustic guitar type of mood for it.

let me say also that if you like bibio, and you like the
track "ted" by the guy "clark," then you ought to go an
listen to the remake of "ted" by the guy "bibio." because
"ted" the track was already great, and now it's great in a
totally different way. fuck i didn't sell that.

for what it's worth, crazy frog, etc etc, listen, intarweb,
traffic, nebulae, corneas, and take a cue from the

the moment...listen twice, just to be sure.
