Isaac_Hayes_quits_South_Park_over_Scientology_episode

[vid] Scientology according to South Park

I'd also like to take this time out to point a finger at
England a call them a bunch of pussies for being afraid of
Tom Cruise.

It's unlikely that Isaac Hayes quit South Park entirely on
his own volition, especially since he claims not to have
watched the Scientology episode.

Hayes was ordered by his church to "disconnect" from the
show because its creators are now enemies of Scientology --
what Scientology calls "suppressive persons" (SPs).
Continuing to associate with an SP would make Hayes "PTS" (a
Potential Trouble Source), a big no-no in Scientology. If
this sounds like crazy cult talk, you're absolutely right.

How ironic that his resignation was announced on March 13:
L. Ron Hubbard's birthday.

so as to avoid being acosted by the scientology legal
forces, all the names in the end credits of that episode are
replaced with john and jane doe.

wait, i just checked and it's smith, excuse me.

but yeah, same thing. they dont even show any of the
corporate logos.

the scientologists seems more like a union for the rich and
famous, rather than a religious group.

"theyre not a religion, its more like an alternative to
psychology."

Well he was aked in an interview, just after the episode had
aired, what he thought about it. He said "That's just what
Trey and Matt do". If he was pissed off he'd had said
something then.

it was the only good thing scientology had going for them

"theyre not a religion; it is to religion what WWF is to
"sport". They changed from a self help business to a
religion for tax reasons. Just like the WWF stopped claiming
it was real (sport) and instead called it "sports
entertainment" to get around tax laws."

There is a family of scientologists in my girlfriends
village and they're a bunch of aggressive, anti-social
nutters.

BTW I'm a Knight of Xenu.

From what I've read he probably is a really cool guy, but it
seems his church forced him to leave the show.

Sounds similar to the Dave Chappelle scenario.

this is not similar to the Dave Chappelle "scenario" at all.
still it does suck, i hope they make reference to it in the
new episodes...like Chef runs off and joins some stupid
religious cult

its xl ironic.

thecrimsonguard - back when Chappelle left, everyone was
saying it was because of black 'leaders' putting pressure on
Chappelle to stop the show because it was insulting to black
people. Personally I don't know how true it all is but you
can read more here

Don't worry, theres plenty of Blue Collar Comedy on the way
to keep you entertained, as well as Larry the Cable Guy in
that new movie of his.

I will admit the first season sucked and basically consisted
of fart jokes and shock value. You should really give it
another chance.

yea, don't believe all you read. he was on inside the actors
studio. watch it if you can sometime on cable or if you can
find it online. the jist of it....he left the show b/c of
what it was becoming, not what other people were telling him
to do. the press...was being the press....starting rumors
b/c he wasn't talking.

two totally different balls of wax all together dude.

r40f - I know, just joshin' ya

crimson - I don't believe much of anything anymore, I just
find conspiracy sites like that very fascinating, but you
know - always take it with a grain of salt (or however that
lame phrase goes)
