Hahaha, I know, I know, he was crazy, no honestly... I
don't know what was going on.. yeah, well, there was that
stuff before and then, OH! I nearly forgot, I'm off to see
Oasis play tonight, yeah, in the stadium..., yeah there's no
drinks inside so I'll have to get slaughtered beforehand.. I
know they're past their prime but, you know, legends, in
their way, and just a bit weird to see them over here, so,
god, yeah, anyway, you were saying...

Combo, Combo, Combo, thanks, but shut up trying to "bum me
out" about going to see Brit Pop semi survivors, boorish pup
rock anthemists, tiresome interfamiliar bruising, 3 original
members down - The Oasises.

Well, I've not followed them that closely since... the
second album... well, it's an evening out. And what doesn't
kill you only makes you stronger. Unless it permanently,
seriously incapacitates you, of course.

I... I don't know what to say. Good luck and try to glass
the drummer from a distance or something, that's the best i
can offer.

The latest drummer is Ringo Starr's son, I'm lead to
believe. I'm keener to bottle Andy Bell at the moment.

Fucking hell, things i never knew about Oasis. When did
Hurricane #1 limp out of existence, then? I assumed old andy
bellend would be peddling his tepid musical effluent in the
pig & pickle pub cellar (or wherever) for the rest of his
sorry days... shame really. Still, see if you can give him a
good piss-soaking from me.

have a nice gig! : )

(by the way, hating oasis is one thing; pretending that just
because you hate them, no one can/should enjoy them, is
stupid.)

(i've heard their concerts were awfully expensive though?!)

haven't heard anything else worthwhile.

The whole thing for me felt strange, slightly sad. These are
my thoughts that came unedited into my brain during the
show

1. Leaden, one-dimensional racket.
2. The 90s sounded better during the 90s
3. Before we went to the concert, my brother-in-law ironed
his jeans.
4. All their good songs are off of the first two albums,
except that song by Liam called "Songbird" but you wouldn't
want to hear another song written by him.
5. I needed a wee after about 10 minutes.
6. I couldn't go to the toilet and had to wait till I got
back to my brother-in-law's flat.
7. The venue was nice, an open air sports arena, not too
big, about the size of a local atheletics track.
8. I felt older than ever.
9. Liam walks about as if he's Bodie AND Doyle in one body.
10. I probably could've got away smuggling a drink in there.

My mate is the step brother of a prem footballer and when he
went to see Oasis in Sheffield last month they got invited
back stage after the show. Loads of photos but Liam is
posing on every one...but my mate reckons he is really down
to earth but just likes posing for the photos.

There is a great picture that their publicist said couldn't
be made public :)

I don't want to give the impression I didn't like it, I
thought it was fun and "Don't look back in anger",
"Champagne Supernova", "Cigarettes & Alcohol" (dedicated to
anyone there from England.. "Me Liam, me.. ME!!! Take me
back, fooks sake") "Live Forever", "Rock & Roll Star",
"Acquiesce" (spelling?), ... ALL GOOD SONGS. I just wish
they'd played, oh what is it, Go let it out, go let it in..
or Roll with it, I like that one. Oh well.

There was one irony in that, throughout the show Liam would
complain and say, mid song, "Mumble mumble fooking
foock...mummble *incomprehensible* FOOK" and then, for the
encore, they played "My Generation" by, you know, The Who...
did he take the opportunity to sing "Why don't you all
f-f-f-f-f-f Fook off?" .. NO, no he fucking didn't, he stuck
to the "fade away" lyric. Perverse, I thought.
