so i was just lamenting to my coworkers about how bad the
subway stops reek of urine in philadelphia and i realized
something

we aren't concerned enough about homeless peoples hydration
levels

i believe gatorade should hold a benefit here in our city
for homeless champions who require proper hydration - i mean
- just drinking cheap beer isnt enough (trust me i know)

these people are finely tuned athletic machines and need to
be in top form to ask for change, smell like shit, sleep in
awkward places, and harass the straights

why isnt anyone concerned?

the stench that comes from the bowels of the public transit
system are from dehydrated bodies - this is NOT good !

Yeah, I've wondered how they manage to stay hydrated. Tap
water in public toilets?

don't you know anything? they're quenched by mouthwash and
isopropyl alcohol!

When most homeless people ask for money for food, it's funny
to give them a load of food or coupons for free food
somewhere and look at their annoyed expression afterwards.

i don't believe you've ever given a load of food.

anyway, i've given them bus passes and coupons for food, and
i took some migrant workers to the grocery store and bought
them some food. and you know what they all said? they
fucking said "thanks for helping me out."

sheesh.

nah Q, i hear ya

ive had both experiences

ive told people id buy em a sandwich or give em food and
they look at me like im outta my mind - i would say 1 in 20
wants food - the others...well...just guess

one dude i gave change to (which is amazingly rare) comes up
to me and says - "look, im not bullshitting, i wanna buy
beer, you have any change?" - i had just bought a six pack
and had some change so i gave him a dollar - honesty is the
best policy!

also - food is easy for them to come by - shelters, scraps,
and food is cheap (though not too nutritious or healthy,
thats another story)

but there arent places that discard of booze, or give out
cans of cold beer for the needy - if there were id be first
in line!

Speaking of natural needs, do homeless people jack off?

I haven't given a 'load' of food. I say this jokingly
because I gave one guy an unopened bag of a junk food
something or other that I had with me instead of money
because I didn't bring any. He looked slightly annoyed but
said 'thank you'. I'm pretty certain he really wanted money
for alcohol, and he seemed a bit drunk at the time already.

I have seen a homeless guy drinking mouthwash on the
street.
But if I was homeless with nothing and had to work my way up
from that, I'd probably feel like getting drunk most of the
time.. because the way society is set up, it probably seems
hopeless when you reach rock-bottom.

I wasn't really being serious.. You need a more sensitive
sarcasm detector. I don't think most would be truly annoyed
if you gave them food, even if they did really want to buy
alcohol.. most would probably be grateful, especially if
there were seriously trying their best to straighten their
life out...

i'm making adjustments to my sarcasm detector this very
moment...

or maybe you need to refine your sarcasm technique. : P
