There will be an iPod comming out for PC sometime this year.
WHATS SO GRATE ABOUT THEM!! I guess you would have to get
your hands on one to see how intuitive they are. I never
really thought anything about them till i had one in my
hands. I could fit every album I own on it. Imagin an mp3
player/ 5 gig firewire hardive with every electronic album
you own on it. Its an amazing idea!

XD

Macs OWN !!!
The iPod is a sweet piece of candy..tad expensive though.
I'd love to have one but i'll have to get some more $$
first. They know what they're doing at Apple's hardware
engineering dept.

That for sure. They are a tad expencive, but i think its
worth it. Have you had the luxury of holding one xlr?

Blue_clax- i hear you very much. I'm into how small and
compact they are, and I like the idea of 800mbps transfer
rates and a 6 gig hard drive that small. You can all store
other data on them

There was a cool article on slashdot that pointed out a kid
who got caught stealing MS word off a campus bookstore
computer with his Ipod. Quality.

Yeah i used one at the apple store in january, it was pretty
cool. i love the user interface and the jog wheel -- easy
to figure out. I didnt like the earbuds it came with
though.

hmm my new avatar is off colour and not blinking as it
should...better fix it.

yeah, lovely bit of kit ...

bit pricey for me so I got myself a Phillips EXP303 MP3/CD
players for £99 and that should keep me going until the
price of these things come down...

Sonicblue have just released a Ipod-alike for the PC but the
price is pretty similar to Apples (altho you do get a 20gig
HD i.e. 3x bigger than apples..)...

But give it another yr and all these prices will come
tumbling...

I read a review on that Phillips MP3 player. Aparently its
plaged with a bad interface and hardware issues. Or was that
the new Nomad??? Ill have to look into it. XD

Apple is also updateing there current line up iPods. I think
its gettin a 20gig drive and mpeg4 compatibility to support
thos new AAC files. XD Apperently AAC is supposed to succeed
the mp3. CD quality at 196kbps!! and much smaller then an
mp3.

XD XD

Yeah my best friend has the nomad jukebox and the batteries
run out after like 2 hours.
20 gig HD for the new ipod? That'd be great!

I thought mpeg4 was for streaming video...hmm.
Where'd AAC come from? Is that kind of like the proprietary
windows media format?

Archos 6 gig. Need more space =)

I'm probably going to write a short review of it so I'll
post it here.

I'd love a mac with DSP soundcard for my music, the things
are so fucking expensive though and I know my way around
windows

cool. I am sure you will love it. Rio is an excellent
vendor. I have the Volt SP-100, and it is simply perfect.
Works like a charm.
I recently upgraded its firmware, and it had some additional
features, I just can praise it...

Anything with an apple on is going to cost you 50% more than
you would pay for a generic item. I hate it.
