cheers, thank you! fleetmouse: he definitely would.. and i imagine he'd take the chomsky "same wine, different bottle" approach to commentating on it, since, in essence, the new administration is a rehash of the old republican administrations from the time when he was around and going ballistic about the state of politics. i'm ranting again but yeah, i sometimes yearn for that. what i really wish for was for him to be around to experience the music of autechre and aphex, since he was so into this idea of music being merely "sculpted air", music just being sound... and also so into music being produced electronically, at the advent of synthesisers, etc. that chomsky "same wine, different bottle" quotation is actually something he said about globalisation, by the way. |
