Im curious because several of the composers that I enjoy most have their first training in disciplines other than music. I have a personal interest in this type. Arch, can you please spare me and everyone else the annoying snipits. Make up your mind between advising people to 'not be rude' and being rude yourself. I actually believe that the universe runs on mathematical principles, in nature, music, everything. But I think all that the letter 'Y is 2 and 5 with is 7, and the letter Y is the question why? But yeah...music is a lot more than just maths...there has to be some sort of communication going on which implies an intelligence not just mechanics...I'll get back to this later... |

i cant believe i read this ENTIRE thread uh... ok im not even gonna talk about all the arguments... cause it was just too crazy for me to take a stand on it. although i will say, alot of people made good points, even people who disagreed. but whatever yeah... i didnt dig math in highschool because it was so boring. they didnt make it interesting. im really sad i dont know more about it. i think i might buy a book and stuff... ... id love to add math to my music... and stuff |
