bros.

i heard the priests don't touch your inner thigh and slowly
move their hand up to your glans in a clandestine attempt at
enlightenment via the holy route of molestation anymore,
please find out if this is true

Churches are the abode of the weak - people who cant make
their own decisions and so look to some lame old book and a
bunch of guys in funny clothes to make decisions for them.

right now i feel like the luckiest guy around. ive had about
18 months of worry lifted from my mind.

ive studied all kinds of faiths and ive always believed
there is something holding us all together. however i have
for a long time struggled with the identity of god, and have
made it a very intellectual issue.

it has suddenly occured to me that identity is unimportant.
i dont need to argue with the characteristics of a religion.
so i must give thanks for my incredible good fortune and ask
for inspiration as to where i should go next.

You sound truly blessed -- and even more than that, you
realize it, which is a good thing.

As for God, you don't need to have an intellectual
realization about God. Talking about it can just be a
distraction/lead to confusion sometimes.

All you really need is to believe that everything has one
underlying source (call it ultimate reality if you like) and
that, on balance, things are more positive than negative.
That's it! That and love and forgiveness will take you all
the way.

Kisses!

That's a good position to be in; open-minded and
non-judgemental. There's nothing wrong with church, it's
not necessarily the 'abode of the weak.' Agreed, many
people go out of either guilt, upbringing, desperation, etc.
but just going to church does not mean you're automatically
taking part in the so-called 'opiate of the masses.' I
mean, when you think about it nearly everything we do, on
some level, is an opiate, a way to distract from the
otherwise intolerable tedium of life. We all die anyway,
some people happen to think there's an afterlife. Maybe
there is, maybe there's not. The ever-popular claim that
people go to church to be saved because they need the idea
of life after death to carry on is complete bullshit. I was
raised Christian and went to church every week as a kid. I
still go back and forth about what I actually believe.
Frankly, I'd be relieved if there wasn't an afterlife. But
just because I don't like the idea of one doesn't mean that
there isn't one, and vice versa. Everyone seems to think
that they can tailor-make their own religion and/or
philosophy. Somebody out there is correct. A shitload of
other people are not. Who's to say who's right? How will we
ever know? I'm not even sure if it's possible. In the
meantime, there's nothing wrong with exploring options. If
you want to go to church, I say more power to you (although
some denominations are more tolerable than others..).

thanks for your kind ear, ganymede and uviol.

i think my next hurdle in life is to become a more
compassionate person. ive grown fairly cold over my
adolescent years, and i really need to learn to care more
about family, and about other people in general.

i guess thats the sort of spiritual guidance im seeking. my
girlfirend has really woken me up a great deal (she isnt
religious) in terms of being a more caring person.

my world is quite small. i did a terrible thing and ditched
all of my friends over the past year or two. i think that
marked a turning point in my life. it was when i really
recognized that i needed to change, because my life at that
time stood for nothing. i guess i feel lonely a lot of the
time, but its not an unbearable feeling. i cant go back to
the old places.

its strange how hard it is to make friends now, i feel its
because im always in a working environment, and i dont go
out anymore. but i think more importantly it has to do with
learning compassion.

ami tabha
doth found a path
teh Dao
compassion is good
you should go to a church
when no service is in session
then you will have no distraction
inner compassion must be strong before you can truly help
others

hey, atleast u have a girl. I've don the same things as you.
I left a life. Everyone I knew was gone from my life. Cut
off. I did something bad too. Don't let this feeling last
too long it can turn into years. What
places' can't you return too? What happened if you don't
mind me asking
