I watched Matrix Revisited today (it's a documentary on
Matrix)---I CAN'T WAIT TILL THE NEXT MATRIX ARRIVES...just
try to imagine what it'll be like. Groundbreaking. Fuck Lord
Of The Ring, Matrix 2 is going to be this years film-event
for me! What about the rest of you?

I agree with Reflex, for a while I've had a feeling that
it's gonna be bad.

The original even had cringeworthy moments.

i know what your talking about, and i really hate how movie
wrighters use that stupid thing where the guy get's shot at
and it's all in slow motion

The first was just based off of things all of have thought
about at one time in life or another, then we realized the
futility of that which we just thought, and so gave up that
thought...

Well ok... the Matrix was a great film, I still enjoy it a
lot on DVD. But it is a movie they should have left as 1...
not 2 or 3 Matrix's... thats kinda stupid. I mean the 2nd
one will be just stuff from the first 1.

i think matrix is a lousy film. i think the effects sucks...
my friends laughed at it when we saw it on video... i think
the hole movie would be much better if someone replaced
keeno reeves cause he sucks

I still haven't seen The Matrix, maybe I should... looks
boring, though.

I'm been anticipating the sequel for awile, but it's taking
way too long, and I doubt it'll be able to live upto the
hype, but It'll definetly be one of the few movies I go to
in the theatres.

the matrix is a shitty no brain rip-off of william gibson,
the invisables, ghost in the shell etc, with shitty effects,
hammy acting, a script that makes my arse weep and the weak
christian allegory bit thrown in to give it credability. it
is a lump of shit, and even worse it has matt goss (of bros)
in it. it will be shit

its alright .. i much prefer eXistenZ tho - a sequel to me
seems a bit excessive?! mmmhhh

ppl seem to put more effort into hating things, than they do
liking things...... its worrying!

that is cos the stuff i love (like william gibson) doesn't
get the credit it deserves, plus it is essentially a
no-brain actionfilm with pretentious bits stuck on: 1984 did
the reality/society as a sham bit 1000 times better and if i
want action i will get an old jackie chan film from back in
the day: it is a pretty poor film, and in 10 years it will
be forgotten

shitty effects??!!
from everyone who's seen it that i know, even the people who
hate the rest of the movie like the effects. Give 'em some
credit.

i saw the first one two times in the theater.

my only problem with the first is its replay factor.
it has too much drawn out dialogue that makes the movie too
long.
i love how it makes anime action turn to reality though!

futility? the matrix was alright for dialogue and acting,
the effects were fun, but onw thing it has for sure is
profoud metaphors for reality. the movie's highest purpose
(whether the creators were conscious of it or not) was to
get these profound truths out into the popular culture.
see, a lot of people need to be eased into these things
through the media because they wouldn't be exposed to such
ideas in their day to day life.

as for m2, i dunno. could go either way. i don't think it
will be great, but it could be good.

Matrix 1 wasn't anything special, considering they ripped
off the entire concept from a comic called the Invisibles
and didn't do it half as well.

#2 will probably be average at best...

I used to read the invisibles, it was cool

matrix blows, eyecandy wrapped in a cellophane thin plot

I feel like Matrix made the actionmovie genre turn to shit.
Okay, it wasn't the first movie to feature lot's of wires
and stuff, but it made it really big, and now every
actionmovie has these slowmotion-increadibly overdone action
sequences.

Coolest action scene ever is in Heat, after they rob the
bank. A lot of machineguns, and absolutely no slowmotion.
The sound is half of it.

I liked the "overdoneness" of it, it was practically all it
had going for it, kinda reminded me of akira in that sense

You talk about profound truths, but don't actually mention
any specifically. The Matrix wasn't profound. It was kind of
enjoyable for the first viewing but to completely cliched
and unoriginal to watch again.

I will go and see the Matrix 2, but as much as I liked the
original, I do suspect that both the sequels will not be as
good! I think it may be the classic 'cashing in on a good
thing!'

The Matrix Revisted DVD was really good though - an
interesting insight into how the film was made, a must for
any fan!

Yep, I agree with you on the Heat heist scene as the best
one. The score by Moby certainly adds to it. I want to get
heat on DVD, anyone know what extras it includes?

How dare you say fuck lord of the rings!

the best movie ever!!!

matrix is inferior to lord of the rings, in every way
thinkable, but i did still enjoy it when i saw it. it had a
cool feel to it. and trinity is a hot bitch!

i dunno about the sequel.... ill keep an open mind.
