ok guys, lets show cygnus what we're made of. post your
craziest, coolest, grooviest drum programming here. only
drums. no basslines or melodies. I wanna hear crazy amen
edits. I wanna here fucking DSP snare rushes, I wanna
fucking hear quadaphonicly filterd kickdrums. I wanna
fucking hear fucking spectraly deformed hi-hat
tripletsthingiemagigies.

START!!!

By applying my formula E=IDM2 I will achieve The
Lost Beat.

to achieve the lost beat, you also need to wear a large
fluffy hat.

*makes note - "Fluffy hat"* I've got one of those,
like, Andean hats with the flaps on the side... I feel I
need a llama and a skinfull of cocaine though to really..
fit the bill.

my whole point was these stupid vsts that take your beats
and auto generate them out of style, now youve turned it
into "oh cygnus will say your music is shit if it has
effects", you must be fucking stupid or you can't read

behold! the secret to average jungle :D
you need FL 6 for this. I used the endorphin compressor and
the blockfish compressor. and also the predatohm distortion
vst.
all 3 of them are freeware. so it's best to download these
to get "the full experience"

well lets consider a few things. one is that my main point
was young inexperienced guys getting into doing that kind
of stuff without having any knowledge about drum programming
at all beforehand. so, like, you guys posting these tracks
to 'prove me wrong' theres really no point. anyways, second
of all, ontop of all that, the tracks that you are proving
me wrong for no reason with are not even good in my opinion.
please believe me when i say im not trying to be a pompous
dick head or a prick or anything. but noen of that stuffs
funky to me or has any real like intentions to take me
somewhere mentally (if they were part of a whole track) and
yeah

hm well honestly i think you did get maybe too much an ego
boost from your beatmaking (i listened to that best track of
that week). i think all the stuff you said about 'the kids'
ironically applies to yourself if you crank out tracks like
that; you are yourself a kid at making music only youre
coming from this oldskool angle. i agree with with
jivverdicker on the emotional content. also i think you too
much just slapped cool stuff together which didn't make it
cool abstract like autechre but sloppy.
i think you're selling the tracks here short not wanting to
look at the strong points they do have but just focussing on
funk/flow. i must say the stuff posted here isn't my style
either but i do think altai's sample sounds more tight, like
a composition, than your stuff.
however i don't care if you think you are king of whatever
however, i think your attitude is kinda fun and i was just
kidding about you getting served ;)

i totally am relatively new at this, youre 100% correct, and
i am one of those 'kids' - ive only been spending hard time
on making since what? like october? and youre also right
about just cranking out tracks and them being sloppy and
quick, 100% correct about all of that

its 150% wrong however about whatever 'ego boost' this is
allageldy giving me regardless of all the 'ponitificating'
im doing, i like everyone here and i dont think im better or
anything. did you see where i got that article in yahoo? i
thought that was fucking retarded, cause theres tons guys
better than me, that article shuldve been about kid beyond
or any other person who uses a laptop to make music, they
even called me a 'pro', which was basically offensive to me.
i more-than-appreciate whatever good comments i get about my
music but the truth is i have no ego about anything at all
except my animation stuff, usually if anyone has anything to
say about my animations ill rip into them hard and say
theyre stuff is complete shit (even if it's good) but as far
as the music goes its just .... forum. the songs themselves
are like discussion and i think one is better spoken for .
the only peoplve whove even mentioned the quality of my
music have been jivverdicker redrum and other people, ive
given no value to any of it , THEy have, and then theyre on
this whole JFK style assassination like im the fucking
antichrist or saddam hussein maybe if i didnt post a lot of
tracks and didnt get recognized theyd have agreed with me or
something, this whole post is terrible im gonna hit preview
before i post it

actually - it's so crazy. it'll take 2 autechres, 5 vsnores
and 9 mantronixes to create it

well the comment at the start of your drum programming topic
was just stupid and i guess i just should have said 'fuck
you' there because i disagreed
it also sounded as a statement, a program, for you own
music. so maybe you should have done that: posted a track of
yours and said 'this is my philosophy on trackmaking', that
would have been cooler imo then slacking off anonymous
'kids' i don't know.
prolly people would have called you arrogant even more then
but i would have respected that :)

Yeah a lot of people are making glitch drums with all sorts
of kind of lame intentions and methods of fulfilling those
intentions, but everyone really has the right (even if they
arn`t doing it the RIGHT way) to do so.

The first time I figured out that separating the amen and
adding it to nintendo sounds (MANY years before MOST of
these new producers btw [fact check me] ;P) I felt great!
And when I final was able to achieve the sound I was going
for (at the time Squarepusher) I was really proud.

I think that yeah, it sucks that everyone is doing now, and
yeah there is really nothing special about it, but I think
we all should be fair to one another because we all were new
to the genre at one point. Just now there are all these one
button shuffle plug ins that sort of make the old fellers
think "Shit you got to easy you don`t deserve credit"

Who cares, lets just post our tracks and help each other out
:D

yes i am a kid that has been making beats since last week,
in my shed with cygnus' nan. such fun, such times, such
timing.

I was taught the way of sampe replacment via Jon therapy, is
the only key.

Seriously don't like being called a kid cause, well I aint.

and I spend blood and jerkin tears over the beats not a
generator.
