Ok, we had these kinds of threads before, but mostly people just drop a long list of names, i would like it if people could write a little about the bands they name so people will feel inspired to actually listen to it. Some links would be nice to.
I would also rather you mention 2 amazing bands, rather than 10 where some are mediocre.
Here i go:
Junior boys:
Really cool production, tender singing over some fresh, slow beats. Good indietronica type of thing. They sound a bit like a slow slow phoenix. Same slick style.
Tracks to check out: Birthday (plays instantly on their website)
http://www.juniorboys.net/
Suburban kids with biblical names:
This music is sort of stupid, in a really excellent way. Bababa sing along songs with electric production. Pretty good shit some of it. Some of their songs are really catchy.
Check out: Loop duplicate my heart (a song about making music on a computer all night)

You fail to convince me that these bands are amazing. They sound mediocre to shitty. Indietronica?

when i read "band" i imagine a group of more than 2 people and usually a "rock" band. e.g. i couldn't call autechre a band without imagining them with long hair and with guitars on a stage.
have i understood the idea of this thread ?

anyways:
TORTOISE
they keep surprising me, they might get boring for a second or two but in another moment they play or release something i didn't expect. Details : the previous album "it's all around you" was quite peaceful and not as ground-breaking as their earlier stuff and i thought "oh no, they're preparing to die, that's it". But then this collab with bonnie prince billy comes out and i go wtf/lol ? They decided to go cheesy but still they can play what they want and in unique way. With their sense of humour which many other artists lack.
ok, just one band for now, let's see if this thread is going right.

band is band i mean. but the bands i'm posting toy a lot with the idea of "regular rock band" and the idea of rock itself.
ok, on similar note i'd recommend Trans AM and the album "surveillance". It's full of tracks that start as regular rock tunes but about in the middle the band forgot what to play next so they loop or finish. And there are micro-electronic short trackies in between. I have lots of fun with every listening.

also, i come to think that the only way to fight with guys like tridenti is to talk about bands they haven't heard of, so it's possible to shut their mouth. har har har !
more music threads = less shit quality trolling.
less shit quality [and dumb free speech hitler avatar action] trolling = more space for music talking and quality trolling

foo fighters:
lead singer was once in the legendary Nirvana as a drummer, but has an excellent voice too. This music simply rocks and kicks ass! They have some really good 'slow' songs too!
i'll never be able to convince anyone to listen to something, except by linking to a review on amazon or whatever.

Add N to (X)
Add N to (X) were a three-piece British band specializing in electronic music performed on analogue synthesizers.
They signed to independent electronic label Mute Records in 1997, and achieved a modest commercial success before splitting in 2003.
The group performed live regularly, often augmenting their core three-piece line up with either one or two acoustic drummers, and sometimes additional musicians playing extra synths and/or electric guitar.
They often utilized distinctive artwork for the videos and record sleeves, a fetishistic collage of sexual imagery with analogue electronic equipment.
All their stuff is awesome!
