Native English speakers, what are your opinions about foreign accents? Which accents are funny, charming, sexy, ugly and so on?

Gente, quanto vorrei poter comunicare con voi in italiano.. Sarebbe sicuramente molto meglio, mi piacerebbe davvero poter capire tutti i topics e rispondere subito alla vostre domande senza impiegarci troppo tempo.

presuming we're discussing people speaking english -
yeah i love dutch accents. really amusing.
french accents are great. italian accents i don't like when they're speaking english, but it's a joy to listen to them speaking italian.
i really like most northern english accents..
can't stand the Cork accent (like anyone else from ireland who's not from cork), and most american accents, especially girls' accents, really grate on my ears.

and speaking of the which, it's strange: we had this phonetics lecturer from Russia who spoke in a perfect BBC English accent when speaking English, and then in this completely different accent when she'd use Russian words as examples.
same with our German lecturer, who apparently learned english in England. her voice would completely change once she stopped speaking german. quite startling.

I didn't like American accents, then I started liking them. Strange. I like to hear all accents, though. Nothing bothers me much. Actually, germans speaking english is sometimes tough to handle. I met some guys from Holland that sounded almost American. They must teach accents too.

Getting a bit obscure, I love Jewish New Yorker Jackie Mason kinda voice :) How out of place I'd look with such an accent. Northern Irish is nice. Geordie accent is legendary...
Yea Dutch accent is slightly amusing as is South African - both a tad quirky!

I find southern accents very soothing. Depends. A slight southern lilt to a voice is wonderful. Maybe you mean a stereo typical red neck accents. Or hillbilly accents.

one of my neighbours is from newcastle and talks geordie. my dad has had whole conversations with him and when i ask him "what did he say?" he has often said "i have no idea". i don't know if that is because my dad is trying to be funny or if there's just no way understanding the guy.

Yeah i guess it depends on who's talking and how much of it there is.
The Boston accent doesn't bug me because I grew up in that area of the country. I also enjoy the stereotypical jew and brooklyn accents.

hehe, icelandic and icelandic accent might be ok but you should hear old icelanders speak english, who didn't grow up learning it from tv like my generation did...most consonanst are way too hard, the R's are way too hard similar to spanish/scottish R's and they don't distinguish between V and W.
