I'm listening to some samples @Bleep. Sounds very
"artificial intelligence" alike. Also somewhat similar to
"Spanners", only less dense and more repetitive. Nice
spaces. I like the bits from track 3 (Cymetry).

Second best album ever made. After Electro Soma.

Agreed, it's not as good as electro soma. But still a great
album.

Second best album ever made.

seriously? or is this hyperbole? because I have been trying
to track down their stuff half heartedly for some time now
but I might just step up the effort now, as I tend to
respect your opinions. the others seem to be positive as
well.

I'm happy to say there will be some new B12 material
surfacing this year...

I guess you might not be able to say catagorically this is
the best album ever, but then you couldn't say that about
any album, really. But certainly, for me, I've enjoyed the
music of B12 since I first heard them when Electro Soma came
out, and rarely a week goes by when I don't listen to at
least something by them.

Coming to them now, a new listener might think, "hmmm,
what's so special about this?", especially after all that's
come and gone in the intervening years with electronic
music. But I think, if you "get" them, if it clicks with
you, then you are richly rewarded.

For me it is timeless electronic music, which is hard to do.

Nacmat says such lovely things.

I just realised on the "B12â„¢ thanks" list on the back of
the sleeve they give "shout outs" to, among others, LFO,
"Black Dog (as was)" and 2 Unlimited. They are just the
best.

Sigh, 1996... ten years since a B12 album... 10
Years

I just recently got this. Its incredible, like the epitome
of mid-90s electronica, and probably some of the best. The
release most similar to it, that I have heard, at least, is
probably Amber.

Haven't heard electrosoma, though.

I'm listening to this right now.... I guess I'm being
nostalgic. It was such a buzz listening to this kind of
music back when it was released. I love that detroit sound
with the soft, mellow pads on top of repetitive percussion
patterns. Kirk Degiorgio and Carl Craig were masters of this
thing too. Hmmm, I think I'll have a listen to Philosophy of
Sound and Machine one of these days as well. Does anyone
have an original cd copy of that release? If so, lucky you!
