.. what? you could still have bought each dreary piece of
vinyl when they came out, who cares about an overpriced,
fuckugly faux-leather binder.

i got it

but i keep all my vinyls out of it

because the weight from all the vinyls weighs it down and
kinda starts to tear or put pressure on the vinyl holders

grr

qrter, maybe overpriced but every now and then it's good to
support a label.

hopefully the $ earned by it keeps them going for a while
longer.

whether you agree with this or not, ah well.

we lost merck.

don't want to lose any more.

I also regret not bouying the binder... but at that time
(november december 2004) I had no money at all

at least I got all the regular analords

I wonder if the audiophile 10 sounds better than the shitty
picture 10

well, that's obviously what the whole Analord thing was
about, trying to earn cash for the label.

personally I don't care about Rephlex at all, though.

i didn't buy any of the analord vinyl or the binder and... i
don't regret it at all.

I'm sure they could make huge amounts of money from a well
publicised aphex cd release, definetly more than they will
have from analord so far

aren't they doing that as well? with chosen lords?

almost all of it I do not like, ALMOST! I did order Analord
2 from warpmart just a few days ago, because there are 2
tracks on there that I do actually like (ofcourse neither of
those are on that "chosen lords" thing, probably one of the
dumbest titles for a cd ever) and, you know, fair's fare.

quite probably yeah, I'm just saying that the binder was
probably more of a thing for the diehards, judging by the
low numbers and independent selling etc. They might market
Chosen Lords a bit more I would presume, the analord eps
have been reasonably quiet, I know some fairly big aphex
fans who didnt know of them at all

how well publicised do you want it? anyone in the
target audience knew about Analord loooong before it came
out. anyone that could have the slightest interest in buying
quickly knew after release because of the hype.

yes, Aphex does sell outside of the "idm scene", but only
slowly, over a long time. if your recordlabel is going down
the drain, you'd want some money quickly.

enter: special/limited editions.

that binder was too spendy. i could get like 10 trapper
keepers for that kind of money and they got the velcro and
the see through pouch for my pens and such.

I disagree, I know half a dozen "non-idm" fans who like
Aphex and buy most new aphex records, but hadn't heard about
analord till after it sold out.

vlari's analord mix tapes kind of make chosen lords
irrelevant..

Since we come to xltronic, even the slightest Aphex news is
spurted all over our faces until we can't remember ever not
knowing about it, and hype is fully functioning marketting
tool. But in the real world Aphex is still capable of being
the biggest electronic artist around and the fact is a lot
of people were left in the dark about this series. Their
target audience may have known about it but they only
targeted 1000 people (or however many binders were made),
which I think basically comes down to an exclusive release
to members of the mailing list

I'm not sure when to sell mine, as I imagine its like gonna
raise in value for a while, then peak and then decline
somewhere in the future. It's like stocks and shares all
this....
