did you order the super special analord pack from warpmart?
thats only place I know where they were available. if you
did, the cd and poster was shipped separately.

theres probably going to be some in the shops for you to
steal (if you are lucky)

actually the poster is 71.5cm x 44 cm , idiot.

here is a review of the poster i did for my school project,
my entire class of 8 people are in for a treat!

Richard D James the greatest musician of all time ever , who
invented acid house when he was 4 and , but , therefore, ,
is god. he Has the biggest setup ever so he music is the
best ever, but in a twist that has shcocked the entire
globe - his newest entirely original work comes with amazing
artwork! for all his loyal fans! And afterall , but , after
having put u[ with paying over a 100 pounds for his last
album [ though stupid fans sold out and traded the binder
for downpayments on cars pfft] it was aboot time for a real
treat! HE has opted for the lovely contrast of puke neon
green and black- and copy and pasted his logo onto paper.
paper. GENIUS. Handily for all super fans , included , also
therefore is a schedule of other overpriced garbage
eminating from peepeephlex HQ - did u know they dont even
take demos anymore !! noooooooo i cant send them my buffer
overide beats... then yes . thank you mr engrish teacher.

I have received it today morning, and as there are some
important track missing from this selection (to mention only
Trojan.KillAV.E, or Lisbon Acid) I must admit that it sounds
quite solid as it is. Having listened only two times from
start to finish there are some remarks that quickly came to
my mind, firstly:
1. The overall sound is a bit harsh and rough ad times (the
hi hats on PWSteal... are to much in front for example)
2. Fenix funk gained some energy, especially the kick drum
sound.
3. Reunion 2 sounds amazing, you can actually feel the "air"
coming through the speakers, and I noticed the reverbed
snare. Powerful.
4. All acid lines sound cleaner.
5. The ending of Crying... (I was always impressed by that)
sounds a bit flat, too clinical, or maybe it needs some more
time.
6. Something happened to the opening melody of Boxing Day,
it just doesn't draw so much attention as it did before.

Al in all I think the biggest disadvantage od this CD is the
selection itself, and the "cold" production.

As good as the Analords were, I can't help but notice that
they are a world different from the likes of Polygon Window,
Caustic Window etc.

Whereas the old AFX used a lot of unrecognizable sounds,
with a lot of distortion and such, the Analords are more
distinct. You can discern just about every machine used to
produce the album.

It sounds a lot like the crap that I produced on Reason a
few years back (sound palette wise of course). It just so
blatantly sounds like a Casio, Roland, and classic synth
fest. Do you think this was intentional?

The arrangements are phenomenol, but the sound palette
itself is to down to earth and un-original.

"Do you think this was intentional?"

no, he did it by mistake.

Don't be a smart ass tolstoyed! No pun intended.

I can just see the little counter on my Reason program move
from left to right as it counts everything in sequence.

Lots of dance beats too. Just ALOT unlike AFX that's all.
I would never have guessed it to be AFX save for a few
tracks like Fenix Funk.

I've just had a thought, don't know if it's been discussed
before, but how do people think Chosen Lords would have been
received as the next AFX album without the Analords having
been released before?

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2007-03-07 07:34 [#02059304]

they would think that it's the best thing that ever happened
to music without a doubt. and they would be right too.

Also, how much of an influence do you think the Analord
material has had on the overall acid/electro scene since
it's release?

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2007-03-07 07:37 [#02059312]

no idea..it seems to me 72% of electronic producers started
using old analogue gear again after analord was released.
though perhaps my taste changed and i now mostly listen to
analogue produced music.

jeff mills - one man spaceship (tho obviously he's been
using analogue stuff all along)
keith fullerton whitman- multiples

or did you mean stuff similar to analords? because i would
have to look around for this...there's quite a bit of acid
house and techno around that sounds quite similar..

Yeah I've got both of those, I was thinking of stuff
similiar to Analord yeah. I've been into the whole techno
scene more than anything over the past few months and it's
such a difficult genre to keep up with.
