i don't like this kind of music, i guess. i always hated
the music on my gameboy when i had one (except tetris).

I love those little drums. Reminds me of playing ultima
underworld as a child. Kan i have those samples you use?

I dislike the melody, its a bit to minimalistic for me.
Contrary to r40f i love those kind of sounds. BTW, i see
youre from iceland. Så kan du jo godt læse dansk! Gik på
højskole med en pige fra island, Sigridur.

lol actually I'm not from Iceland...I'm from France but I
would like to live in Iceland.....

The drum samples are all synthesized with Nanoloop so I
think I took a low pass square wave for the kick and a noise
for the snare...I can record them if you're interested :)

Liar!!! Hehe. I'm always into new samples. I really dig
those white noise hi´s/snares

I think it's cool. The melody is much too prominent to be
that boring. The bass is phhhaat and needs to be louder,
dunno how much control you have of these things

Where did you get hold of nanoloop by the way?

offline Dozer on 2006-01-30 10:44 [#01830295]

I don't have many controls but I can change the volume of
the bass :)

For Nanoloop, see nanoloop.com

Production of version 1.3 (for old Gameboy) and version 2.0
(for GBA) have restarted.
hurry up!

ohhhhh nice bassline boyo! I can appreciate this as i know
how fucking long it takes to make a full nanoloop tune.
sounds scary. And i NEED some scary 8bit shit. I'm currently
working on some 8bit pirate tunes. ill let you know.

Cool, drop a mail when you'll have more info :)
I'm going to write more spooky tunes with this cool piece of
software....

Shit... I really want it. I have the old big fat grey
gameboy and I could probably get hold of one of those
gamegear-looking Advances. Maybe it was LSDJ but I think I
heard those Advances are shit for this.

What did you use Dozer? I'm wondering about which version...

well, if I knew that, I would have said it.. I don't usually
dislike music like this, but.. I just didn't like it. It did
nothing...

not really, no.. I can't give rational explanation of it,
but then that isn't what music is about...

I have the 2.0 version and I used it for this track
The GBA sound is not so shit but it is more difficult to
have a "real" gameboy sound with it....

I've also ordered version 1.3 because I'm going to buy an
old grey gameboy

Thanks, which gameboy did you use? I'm torn, 2.0 looks more
advanced and the samples on that site aren't typical gameboy
sounds, that 'lofi' track is great. Then again it doesnt
sound like its ideal for the GBA

offline Dannn_ from United Kingdom on 2006-01-30 12:26 [#01830374]

Hmm seems I could get that for about 25 quid anyway

I used the one just above ^^
You can play more sounds at the same time with nanoloop
2.0...
