I much prefer message boards to chat rooms because I can
use them at work because people do not expect a quick
responce.

When V6 comes out will we be able to have sub threads?

Messageboards are nice. Live chats are too demanding, and
most people are boring as hell anyway. :-)

seriously though, I like the format of this board... we
don't need a chat... people usually respond fast enough that
it's like a slowed down chat anyways...

a chat room wouldn't kill anyone,

The problem I would have it is that I use this board as an
information database and to have long term discussions, and
the posts are permanent. A chat room the text is gone as
soon as you close your window.

yah

MBs give people more time to think about what they wish to
say

v5 is sooooooooooooooooo goood
actually we post like between 1.5 posts per minute and 1
post per minute (i did calculate it)
so we dont need a chat room
here posts are forever and you have time to write and think
this leads us to good information

Yes - the chat room would seem a little too strange for some
reason. And also there are 2 problems with that.....

p01. More coding hours longer time
p02. If not coding, then placing one of those CRAPPY chat
rooms in here and clashing the wonderful site v5 with some
crap java window.

everyone talking at once in a chat room, its nonsence. chat
rooms are hard to have a conversation in

yup. you can't really perceive anything as spam in MBs,
either.

it could be a limited user chatroom like.. only 50 people
allowed at the same time

Message Boards are better than chat rooms, because you can
look back at the topics that people were talking about
yesterday, the day before . . . and so on!
