Has anyone heard the new release, "MEDS"? I think its
going to take a couple of listens to sink in.

(I hesitate to make a "get back on the heroin" comment.
We'll save that for Trent...)

While on the topic, if the new Tool record sucks I think I
am going to castrate myself.

it should be coming out in the Spring. (And I [still] doubt
it.)

placebo is poo, saw them years ago and the lead singer cries
to much

the 2 new tool dvds are rehashes of theier ofther videos,
w/commentary from Jello Biafra on Parabola and the guy from
The Jesus Lizard on Schism, both dvd containing 20+min
ambient remixes from Lustmord

When did Alternative rock begin to suck the cock so hard? Oh
right, in the last 5-10 years or so.

The only song of theirs I have heard is 'Plasticine' and I
really like it. I get the impression his voice gets annoying
after listening to several tracks off an album in a row
though.

Molko's antics are a bit tiresome, but Placebo are a great
studio band. I've not been to one of their shows, but having
seen a few live on telly and talking to mates who have seen
them, I'm of the opinion that they're one of these bands who
are poor live in comparison.

I always got the feeling that Brian Molko was from
Yorkshire, and put on a phony yank accent for singing and
interviews.

"Well thanks for being on T-4 Brian"

"Yah no problem dude"

*Programme goes off-air*

"Raaaight then chuck, fancy a quick pint in t'pub then
hotpot before bed?"

seems like it's better than previous release. I'm not
listening very attentively, maybe this helps my liking. More
like their first albums.

i had downloaded sleeping with ghosts because i was
curious (and liked the album title)... but the only track i
kept was 'english summer rain', i didn't really like any of
the others. (brian molko's voice is also a bit annoying.)
are the other albums different/« better » ?

Without You I'm Nothing has a very special place in my life.
It was the soundtrack to me leaving Uni, a failed
relationship and my introduction to the big bad world.

Beautiful album!

that's two things i fear... (leaving uni/entering into the
"big bad world", and having a relationship...)

It is really scary and a shock to the system, but once you
have found your feet life gets a easier. I was a mess for
about six months after uni. My advice start looking for a
job/internship now.
