Have you spoken to Lech Walesa recently? He's installing a
microphone!!! That's just incredible, you can speak to your
former president who actually hardly speaks polish! I love
the idea and I wonder how long he will put up with the
insults thrown at him

synchronised with an external hard drive that I use as
backup.

consider that he's a very clever motherfucker, I'd ask "how
you do it, when having almost notning to say and you go
round the globe giving lectures??"

(I'd recomment dvd-r's).

the one i use is all one peice, it's just a maxtor external
hard drive.

but, they do sell housings and drives seperately, and that
would be fine. it was just more work than i cared to take
on.

i think it's an ace system, easy and stuff
you lost your data because your hd in the thing died, they
do that ive noticed
i fear the day my luck will have both my hd and my backup hd
die

it didn't die. it's quite alive for a dead hdd :D

i still don't know the reason why. i have cleaned it and
installed new firmware for the external case.

if it crashes a third time i will cut off the balls from
that bastard that sold me this shit.

my nerdy friend once told me there are companies or whatever
that could still get the information of the disk because it
couldnt have gone anywhere really, just the reading thing or
something else stopped
unless the disk went up in smoke, as i once experienced, or
if the seller sends it back to maxtor for guarentee, also
happened

what program could i use for making backup pictures of my
partitions ? i used norton ghost until now...

would be cool if it would have a good compression

please... i just digged norton ghost but it sucks... even on
the highest compression the backup is still about 90 % of
the original :|

I just do it the old fashioned way, DVD to DVD with Nero,
lots of bending over and keeping track of what I've copied
and what's to come, etc. I love backing stuff up, I like the
subtle warmth of the DVD just after I remove it from the
drive and I look forward to each backup season.

I admit it's kind of masochistic, but I genuinely enjoy the
act of backing stuff up. Pleasure and comfort, 4.5 gigs at a
time.
