i was reading this this article (there's also a
modular synthesizer one but i guess this is the real one)
don't you think this part wrong, or just written wrong:

"VCF - Voltage Controlled Filter, which filters out all
sounds above (high-pass), below (low-pass) or both above and
below (band-pass) a certain frequency"

because filters out to me means those frequencies will be
cut away, while the pass means they're not

ok, shall i change it to:
"VCF - Voltage Controlled Filter, which cuts away all sounds
below (high-pass), above (low-pass) or both below and above
(band-pass) a certain frequency"
?

yes, i think that sounds more correct.. but i'm no expert on
english, as it's not my mother language.

..which cuts away all sounds
below a certain voltage threshold value (high-pass), maybe..

i changed it now the way i said
the more words the more complicated it gets. there is a
whole (correct) article on the subject anyway

yeah. the term itself should be quite self-explaining..

yes, that's how i finally could remember it myself, so the
explanation is still crap imo because it explains what the
name doesnt say, but otherwise you get to many words
