AFX: Analord 1 / Analord 2
Rating: 5.6 / 6.0
AFX: Analord 3 / 4 / 5
Rating: 7.5 / 7.0 / 5.8
AFX: Analord 6 / 7 / 8
Rating: 6.3 / 6.2 / 6.7
AFX: Analord 9 / 10 / 11
Rating: 6.8 / 7.6 / 6.6

Does the Pitchfork dudes have the rating-skills or are they
just wankers?

I don't know how they rate 'cause I don't read pitchfork,
but I give pitchfork 0/10 and analord 10/10. Analord wins.
KNOCK-OUT

cunts & know nothing on music, that's it, they deserves to
be hacked

i dont rate analord, i just think they're my favorite pieces
of music since boards of canada first cd & confield by
autechre.
i listen to them all the time

Anyone who gives analord 2 a mere 6, yet give dross like
analords 3&4 7+ needs to think again. Honestly, which
cripple thought Analord 2 (the only really stand-out
record in the series) deserved second from last place?!

Imbeciles.

1- too little emphasis on 707 snares.
2- bass too low.
3- what is this? absence of cowbell.
4- not enough vocoder processing, and whats with the eq.
5- mastered onto dictaphone micro tape.
6- circuits glitching in sh-101, open it up, spray it, start
over.
7- eh?
8- too MUCH bass, not enough 808, no reversed american idol
samples.
9- almost good manual sync. a little impressive.
10- sounds like invisibledust and itsgoodtobeborn! Fenix
circuitry proves functional. can't buy it from bleep.
11- jean michel jarre wishes he could do this! but i'm
afraid he can't. He does'nt have a Fenix or a 303.

i've downloaded (just about) every analord and am going to
give them a thorough listen. i have them all on vinyl, i
just hate the format.

i've been listening to i care because you do, saw II, hab
cd, and the singles collection non-stop for the past few
days so perhaps i'll be a bit warmed up.

I won't be using scores.

ANALORD01

Very groovy and "raw", lovely vintage feel. Consistent
soundscape. Beautiful and original melodies surfacing in the
short tracks as well, the bizarre "acid grooves" are the
most definining parts of no. 1's identity as an Analord
release.

Standout tracks: Canticle Drawl/b>, Grumpy Acid

ANALORD02

Probably the most "ambient" of the Analord releases, reminds
me a bit of SAW85-92. Delay-drenched pads and stomping
bassdrums, with a bit of that cheeky 303 squelching out in
the far edges of your headphones. Lush!

Standout tracks: Laricheard, Bwoon Dub

ANALORD03

The most "messy" Analord in my mind.

Melodies swirl out of resonance-ejaculating, warbling
synths, the drum machines stutter and the TB303 is working
overtime. Oddly enough, Klop Job separates itself wildly
from the other tracks by offering an absolutely epic
303-line and pads reminiscent of good, old Drukqs. Probably
my least favorite Analord, due to its "demented dancefloor"
nature, but definitely worth a shot.

Standout track: Klop Job

ANALORD04

A very mellow release featuring some beautiful melody work
and great, bassy grooves. The A/B-side relationship is very
schizophrenic, as their styles differ quite a lot. Still,
though, they work excellently in sequence and Breath March
is one of the greatest "dancy" tracks AFX has put out.

Standout tracks: Homemade Polysynth, Breath
March/b>

ANALORD05

A faster, more energetic Analord this time around, flexing
some newer equipment and a more polished sound altogether.
Cilonen features an AMAZING melody and the loveliest use of
cowbell this side of the universe. Reunion isn't half bad
either, although that gated synth gets on my nerves. Comes
together very nicely in the end, though, and that beat is
really well done.

Standout track: Cilonen

Out of letters, so on with the show a bit later...

i'm afraid not. i went out in the park today, to enjoy some
forest noise but i ended up doing advanced calculations
dealing with the positioning of the trees, the aerodynamic
factors of the buildings nearby. AND HOW MANY FUCKING TLM
103s DO I NEED TO RECORD IT PROPERLY without having it sound
like my grandma recorded it with her deaf ears???
i have 11 neumann TLM 103's, five shure sm81s, an an audio
technica AT4041.
I'm guessing that around 30 small diaphram mics might be
best, and I'm
considering getting a pair of neumann KM184's. But maybe I
need omnis,
or figure 8's or something to attach to the trees, and some
set up in a formation around the park. and some sort of
padded screening blocks to cancel out the unwanted
frequencies generated by the FUCKING BUSSES. Life is Shit.
