What were your opinions on this album? I think "Kill Rock
n' Roll" and "She's Like Heroin" are my favorites here,
though "Vicinity of Obscenity" is highly entertaining,
though a bit annoying at times.

I like the first half of the album, but the second half
seems to drag in places where the quirkiness wears off.
However, I do enjoy the album, and I listen to at least half
of it regularly lately, so I feel it was a worthy purchase.
I'm not sure if it will convert any new SOAD fans though.

the title track is the one playing, and it's one of the
lower points of the album. but if you download anything, try
"Kill Rock n Roll" and "She's Like Heroin."

the new albums pure shit, the other one on the other hand is
not too bad, there's a few unique songs with good tunes, and
the mastering is quite good.

Tthey'll never again reach the high point of
Toxicity. That really was a masterpiece as far as the
rock/metal genre is concerned, every track was immaculate.
Since then they've released Steal This Album! (which
was disappointing but alright when one considers they were
tracks which didn't make it onto the first two albums) and
the last two -ize albums which are frankly abismal.

System have lost the uniqueness which made them such an
original band at the turn of the millenium. Anti-American
rock which was so compellingly rebellious when albums like
The Battle of Los Angeles came out has now been made
uncool by pop-punk twats like Green Day and so System have
had to distance themselves from what was their sound.
The result is two tame albums which are too short and
forgetful. Disappointing.

"...two tame albums which are too short and
forgetful."

It's actually just one 80 minute album, released in two
parts to maximize profit. They admit as much. But I thought
mezmerize was wonderful. Hypnotize is probably not as good,
being the kind of b-sides release that it is.

i dont like SOAD. I'm not a real fan of the music in
general, but i do think they are very good at what they're
doing. I just don't like the music that much :)

oh, and i hate the singer's face... he looks like the
fucking male Cher

I do like the title track very much but otherwise I don't
really care for SOAD.

everytime i hear that song coming from my coworker's cube i
cringe. definitely not enjoyable to my ears, sounds very
whiney. i enjoyed their first release a few years ago, but i
can no longer listen to it.
