it's still our fault, and the difference with this knowledge is that 'fixing' up isn't as simple as we thought. Duh, ecosystems are turbo sensitive, evolving over billions of years, and we're just shitting all over the planet.

the big problem is that one of our 'best hopes' for controlling global warming may actually be completely counterproductive..

its like putting a band-aid on an axe wound
our behavior as human beings is pathetic
i wrote a paper in college about how the human race is the perfect disease (it kills without regard, destroys itself at will, and cares very little as to its impending doom) - i got an A+ and my teacher told me it was the most depressing thing she'd ever read !!!

*shock* we might actually have to investigate energy generation and product manufacturing techniques that don't rape the planet! We don't have an easy way out! oh I want to cry, let's just ignore it and let our grandchildren be the ones to suffer.

here's a funny one: what are guns for? Think about all of our effort on advanced weapons systems.. who are they designed to kill? who are these great enemies of ours? hahahahaha

We're destined to lose anyway, the plants have the right idea. We're doing our best to accelerate the process. It's been a hell of a ride.

this tree methane thing is pretty minimal and doesnt outweigh the benefits of replanting forests. but weve fucked everything up enough so it wont matter anyway.
actually, this global warming malake isnt that bad really. climate change on this scale has happened millions of times since complex life has been around to have to deal with it, and yet people keep saying how global warming is going to kill everything. true, it might finish off the polar bears, but extinction occurs all the time naturally. global warming is inconvenient for humanity (i.e. our towns will flood) but for the earth itself, its not bad at all.

that's an interesting topic - when americans freak out about "weapons of mass destruction (WMD's)" - ugh, im gonna puke for actually using that...yuck - but they get all worked up and concerned about other countries, what about the weapons of mass destruction we have, make, sell, use, distribute, etc?
seems they're not concerned cause itll save their ass...so selfish and blind
this whole "save the planet" thing is bullshit too - like george carlin says:
"the planet will be fine, the people, they're fucked"

yeah, US keeps moaning about other countries making nukes, but who has the largest stockpiles and who is the only country to have actually used them against civilians!? Blair is nearly as bad over here too, moaning about iran etc.
meh, hopefully we will wipe ourselves out sometime anyway. eventually the world will be re-populated by hyperintelligent mutated cockroaches. thay might even like electronica.

It's a mess alright. A huge fucking mess. People just got to realize that partying at the end of the universe is the only way to go out with a bang!
On a more constructive note, there are incredible technologies out there: Maybe our hope is in the zero-point energies (=no more war) coalescing with psi-powers (=no more prozac and mind control) and teleportation technologies (=no more parochialism) to bring about a new world? I'd invest in what is known to work, namely modelling psychological realities through neurolinguistic metaprogramming. (Anybody who doubts ESP is like someone who is afraid to look into the mirror.)
That's the only way to kill the disease that is HISTORY (and CULTURE), not humanity. That's where I differ from the great G.Carlin. I still see some hope - it's just not obvious.
Revolution has already begun.
