Powerpuff Girls/Squarepusher

I know it's probably an easy question to answer, but seeing
as I don't know my beats, what are the breaks used in the
intro to the cartoon "Powerpuff Girls" and that one sample
used in the Go! Plastic track "My Fucking Sound" as well as
Ultravisitor's "District Line II". The sample of the guy's
voice sounds pretty cool.

All I know is the "come selector" samples are off The Ragga
twins.

think break
amen break
funky drummer

probably one of these. or some other very common breaks. you
can download them of the net if you do a search for jungle
breaks

there are several drum samples used frequently by many
musicians that are royalty-free. you'd be surprised how many
people use that jungle break.

When Squarepusher drop one of those really obvious breaks
into a track, it's more of a reference to old school d'n'b
than anything.

that's what i'm doing when i drop a really obvious break
into my music, too.

i suppose. its just crap if people just steal premade beats
all the time. squarepusher does make his own too.

he kinda drops the obvious breaks in 90% of his tracks.
but even in the new d&b releases they drop the obvious
breaks.

ofcourse he does
the breaks at the very start of Beep Street track are from
an original sample i have here called "soul pride.wav". Even
the first few seconds are unedited and exactly the same as
this sample

soul pride is actually an old james brown tune, along with
funky drummer and gobs of other old school jungle breaks. if
im not mistaken, james brown is the most sampled man in the
world.

oh, and in the beginning of beep street, while tom does keep
the same rhythm structure, you can tell each hit is
resampled

K3wl. Thanks. I really like that sample in Ultravisitor
where the clip goes "Welcome to blackfoot" but time
stretched massively. Then when he uses it on Go Plastic with
that really rollin' sounding sequence.
