LAZY_TITLE

The esteemed and brilliant label Mego has shut up shop at
the end of 2005.
Don't worry however as it's reopening as Mego Editions,
along with it's sister label Mosz, which has been running
for the past year.
However, this means LAST CHANCE TO BUY current Mego stock at
Warpmart before alot of it disappears forever.
Go to the browse tab and select Mego to see which titles we
have in stock. We will gradually take things off the site
and will have no mego stock by the end of the month, so be
quick.
Mego Editions First Release will be mid January
Regards
Mart

This frightened me for a second when i saw the headline.
Well I better check over the catalogue for anything I might
want to scoop up before it's gone.

Ah, this is great. Electronica is gonna have to start
competing with other music in the real world soon. I can't
wait to hear the results. This what libertarians mean when
they say
"The Market will sort it out."

i would assume it's an easy way to discontinue their entire
back catalogue.

so perhaps if there is something you'd like you may want to
get it soon before there are no more presses of it.

personally it seems like some sort of marketing ploy, unless
they aren't going to discontinue their back catalogue. then
it seems like they want to start fresh, sort of.

Beat me too it.

You wait, by the end of January, it'll be Skam, by the end
of Feburary, Rephlex, by April 1st Warp itself will be
shutting up shop.

IDM is a terminal case.

I agree, Maximo Park et al will save them. IDM is dead,
labels that start doing more indie rock that 15 year old
trendy "alternative" kids in jeans, pink shirts and blazers,
buy, will survive. This is evolution at its finest, my
friends.

there's nothing on their website, and mego wasn't so busy in
last 2 years....maybe they just want to quit mdos shop, and
like someone said, refresh the label....there is completely
crazy underground noise/improv scene going crazy worldwide,
don't worry about the state of music!

IDM killed itself by primarily being about nothing but
anime, video games, nonsense technical song titles and
pedo-fascist toddler nostalgia.

Guys, if you don't want your music to be a disposable
teenage fad, don't aim it at that market and try using
themes and ideas that don't make grown-ups wince.

Yeah, Fennesz is great I think. He has an ability to change,
experiment and grow that will keep his career alive as long
as he wants.
