sup?

here's something a little different from Earstroke...

Brian Ellis - Trustworthy (mp3 EP)

- stream m3u
- download zip

"Brian Ellis is a snowballing boulder of talent. working
under several aliases and taking on a multitude of projects,
he is beginning to leave his graceful footsteps in the world
of music. Trustworthy not only showcases Brians mastery of
instrumentation and songwriting skill, but is a key
representative of his influences; after the first three
beautifully woven original songs, the ep moves from the
exclusively acoustic cover of Aphex Twins "Flim," to a very
candid cover of "Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel. you
can be sure to hear more from Brian Ellis soon.
"

to peace and a happy new year,

word up, gvarek.

the suction cups ep will be a slightly new version of the
Theme Song, which you've already heard. it's all we have at
the moment, and we think it's a good starter.

new material hasn't surfaced yet, but i'm moving back to wv
in march, so lots of jamming will get done.

by the way, if you dig the Suction Cups, you might dig
Earstrokes first hard copy release, Meadows & Labyrinths. it's
very much on a similar plane of thought as Suction Cups.

sorry for getting upset, but it's easy. maybe even as easy
as it is to immediately dismiss something without knowing
what it is, especially over the net, and moreso at xltronic
than anywhere else, for some reason.

but anyway, that isn't what i made this thread for.

:D

Why do you make the assumption that we don't know what it
is?

Yes, I know about this CD. I was going to order it, but was
hoping at the same time, that it would not be a CD-R.
Another thing: is "Labirynth" a version of "Leviathan" from
your EP. The sample indicates it... ??

why do you post a picture of a guy thinking about a parrot
talking on the phone?

why ask why? high five. (i hope that answers your question.
i'm trying to make exactly as much sense as you do.)

gvarek, you are absolutely correct. Labyrinths is a heavily
modified and extended version of Leviathan. Meadows,
however, is an entirely new track.

and yes, it is cd-r. i know you don't dig those cd-r's, and
that's cool. eventually this material will be alongside
other tracks on a cd, or even vinyl if things work out.

all this stuff takes time, money and work, as you obviously
are well aware. it's fun work, for the most part. promoting
is the toughest part of the spectrum. getting people to give
a shit, ya know?

:D

Question: Who did the photography for the Skytree - Dagda EP
and who did the artwork for the website itself? I love the,
what looks like a watercolor painting of a tree, on the
homepage.

the Dagda pictures, i believe, were taken by Choric Lumina,
who also appears as a vocalist on the release. the photos
were then handed over to me, and i made a minimal design
with them.

i designed Earstroke, but that tree you are talking about is
a drawing by WordSalad. i use his work, and other Suction
Cups members art, quite frequently for many projects.

i should give credit to Laura, who is the mastermind behind
the code, and made this site possible, among other things.

perhaps we could use the internet in some way, to show
eachother little videoclips like the one you so vividly
describe.

I think it could well turn out to be super fun!
