SparkleFilth - Wolf At My Door (demo)

I play guitar and keyboards, and my friend Halo is singing.
This song was inspired by a series of short stories written
by her grandmother, who suffered from Lupus Erythmatosis all
her life. The stories inspired this song.

Questions, comments, mailbombs welcome.

And yes, I know we need a drummer. We're working on it.

quite impressive Oddioblender!

I especially like the ending where the 'me' is refrained
until the final moment with overlapping lines prior to it.
Nice!

it was mainly the singing, but the guitar also sounded a
little out of tune, though maybe that was intentional.

i don't see what was wrong with the singing, but it IS a
demo so i'll accept any criticism you give me for
improvement's sake. thanks for listening!

I'm not knocking what you're trying to do, I really like
what I've heard of your electronic music, so keep it up. to
be honest I just didn't like the sound of her voice, but at
least she's trying. I didn't think there was a whole lot of
flow in the lyrics, which is something I like to see. It
might just be me, but the delivery of the lyrics seemed a
bit... forced.(not sure if i've got the right word here) I
hope this is taken as the constructive criticism it is meant
to be. :)

no, no, all criticism is appreciated! this is a demo, so the
song will be improved over time. she's trained in musical
theatre so her voice is a bit theatrical but i like that. we
probably need a backtrack for the vox. we were actually on a
deadline so we were kind of rushing for it.... the song was
for her family and they didn't like it, unfortunately...

i'll have some more electronic stuff up soon, plus some
stuff from my new hiphop group, 1-Up (Powerup Posse.)

well, i have to agree about the singing... while she may be
a very talented singer (i don't know), this is just not a
good performance. lyrics are very difficult to pull off
sometimes, so my advice is think less of having music and
lyrics in two separate boxes, and think about how the lyrics
could work with the music together. the best lyrics aren't
always the best words written - more often it's the way it
is delivered. and with this kind of music, the singer is
the most noticeable element of a song... i agree with
zephyr twin's comments - theatrical or no, it isn't really
working.

aside from that, why do you guys need a drummer? just
program oddio's famous beats and bring along a tape to gigs?
i think that would be cool.
