your critique of the follies inherent in the formation and
operation of a tiny specialty music label by forming and not
operating a mock tiny specialty music label is spot on.

The difference being that twenty-four hour party people
centered around music people actually gave a fuck about.

Look, IDM is like the late eighties art scene at the moment.
Galleries were closing left and right, no one bought art
anymore, the recession was biting... So you had artists like
Damien Hirst and Gary Hume (whether you like them or not)
finding new ways of attracting public attention and art
collectors investment. They made "cutting edge" art that was
accessible. People talked about it. Amen breaks and "fucked
up beats" isn't gonna cut it anymore.

My five point plan for bringing back electronica:

1: No-one ugly or over 25 allowed to make tracks.

2: Aphex and Autechre to be demoted from God status to mere
humans.

3: Breakbeats or anything else deemed "too 90's" not
allowed.

4: Staccato, syncopated, smoove styles sounding so sweet.

5: Taking influence from people outside of IDM to make
records that people can actually -gasp- dance to!

no, but i used an xltronic standardized form developed by
phobiazero himself, so it's cool.

more importantly, your label is NSFW. how can i download
the grinning ape without raising the ire of my easily
offended, post middle aged workmates?

i'll pass that right along. when explaining this, is it ok
if i substitute "yoohoo" for "cunt"?

if you'd prefer, i can also safely substitute with
"business" or "cooter."

This may be the single most EXCELLENT net label EVER in
existance. And I'm not saying that cause I'm on it, but the
raw attitude, innovative design (the logical conclusion from
the design benchmark that is the Central Coast Cinemas site)
and punk ethic make it THE tip for the Top 2006. Look out
n5md, voidstar, m-tronic etc, you're all dead, its time for
Bam in your Cunt Records! YEASSH,

virginpusher I have replied to your email in a
positive manner, and I am about to make good on my words...
NOW.

i only have some mp3's in my archive, but as they are
limited edition collector's items, i'd be loathe to turn
them loose.

I might have an Mp3 or 4 of is somewhere on my HD. I could
have a look for you, but like plaidzebra, I want to keep
those to trade amongst the idm elite for unreleased aphex
tracks etc.

I hear B.I.Y.C. Records are currently talking to a new act
with a view to signing him. Early indications are that it's
a dancefloor friendly fat slab of electronica. Imagine
something like Milanese, or Arcane, but done by a terrible
small IDM label filled with a roster of talentless hacks...

Sounds SHIT HOT to me!!! Here's hoping BIYC sell out
to the big club, house compilations before you can even say
"Wha... , eh?"

Yes, from the short sample I heard, it's a sort of horrible
middle ground between IDM and commercial house and trance. I
suppose if you can cater to both the IDM fanboys, you can
guarantee you'll sell the high priced one-off limited
pressings at vastly inflated prices, whilst the dance
fraternity of mindless pill-dazed zombies will buy the
records in a huge volume, possibly even resulting in BIYC
charting in the UK.
