Abso-fucking-lutely a brilliant movie.
Just got done watching it...Easily one of Finchers best
works.

I have seen it a few times before, but it rocks my mind
everytime.

Good Stuff.
Cheers!

...and kevin spacy provides the best acting performance,
even though he's only in it for like 10 minutes at the end.

I did not like it, however I do like how it has Coil's remix
of Closer at the beginning done in DTS.

The movie seemed to be presented in a way to try and make
the viewer sympathize with the killer and understand where
he's coming from because societies widespread tolerance of
"sin" is supposedly very terrible. The killer was presented
as a teacher and the main detective admired him.

Having strong disbelief in conventional religion and "sin",
myself, I can't see it like the main detective did, because
sin is a nonexistant thing. But the movie can sort of be
interpreted differently; how religion, generally a big
successfully self replicating memeplex of lies, can make
someone fucked up enough in the head to do things like that.
If interpreted this way, religion is the evil thing, not sin
and not the killer really. He's just a victim of religion I
suppose.

If you liked this movie "kiss the girls" is quite similar
and even stars that same black guy as a detective again.
It's not quite as good I guess but almost. The sequal "along
came a spider" isn't so good.

seven is almost as christian as ozzy osbourne, but not
quite. i like them both, though.

I don't think the movie sympathised with the killer, but at
the same time they did imply that he was not insane.

I like Seven a lot, I don't find it particularly thought
provoking though, Cinematography and atmosphere is the best
thing about the film.

I noticed that they never reveal the name of the city in
which the story takes place...Also, it rains very heavily
everyday except on the last day SUNDAY.

Trippy....
;)

I've really got to stop looking at your avatar. But from
what I remember of Se7en, it was a good, modern film-noir
movie - if that makes any sense. There were lots of
classical references thrown in to beef up the film's
intellectual claims, but they seemed pretty extraneous most
of the time. Also, I remember a Haircut 100 song being on
the radio when they were in the cafe - and that's always a
good thing... or not, maybe.

when he sees his wifes head, that is the worst acting i've
ever seen ever in my entire life ever

"oh! oh no! oh my god! oh! oh!"

and it's nice to see morgan freeman not typecast at all as a
retiring police officer.

other that that, it's excellent, and demands repeated
viewings.

This movie is even gayer than "The Crow". Oh, I'm scared.
