Often when I'm reading a topic then I click the back button to go back to the main index Safari will crash. Is this a known bug?
Seems to only happen if I have mulitple tabs open.

It just happened to me while using safari as well. Only ever happens on XLT, too.
Told Phobs, but because he has his Anti-Apple stance, I don't think he will do anything :(

opera's based on the same rendering engine as konqueror, usually found on kde under linux.
i usually use firefox, but on the odd occasion using konq, never had any problems.
personally, i'd suggest using firefox. i find it a better browser all around, especially since 1.5 was released. safari seems to like crashing a lot.

Safari is easily my favourite browser, Firefox looks a bit "cheap" to me. I have used it a few times and like it, but prefer the Safari interface by a squillion miles.
Plus, the only time that it ever crashes is when using XLT.

yeah, fair enough, it has some nice features, for sure.
i just consider a browser quite broken/flawed if it easily crashes due to a webpage's malformed (i assume) code. a web browser should /not/ crash, full stop, due to any code on any page (plugins a different story of course).
my bet is it's related to either the javascript, or externally called code (various ads in iframes, etc)? regardless, it's still a fault of the browser, imho.
has anybody put a bug report into apple, specifically against this website? sure, phobia might be able to fix the problem, but that isn't going to stop the same flaw in another website, you know?

I've put a bug report to Apple, also had a mini-grumble to Phobs about it too.

Oddly I've had a few Firefox crashes in the last couple of days. It's never crashed before though. Bloody browsers and all their technical doohickies :(

heh, yeah, firefox certainly isn't perfect in that regard, either. crashes on me, a bit, too. 1.5 seems less stable on windows, but more stable on linux/osx.

i have the same problem... what version of safari do you have?
it seems that submitting "bug reports" to Apple, do nothing to stop the problem.
perhaps you could light your computer on fire, and polish your own turds.

Today on "Amazing Adventures From Ages Past": The mighty Phobiasaurus fights the J-Rex for a piece of wood for his tea, but the J-Rex takes the wood and jumps into the ocean, making pursuit impossible. However, the Phobiasaurus' friend, the Tunefish, uses his search engine to locate the J-Rex' landing spot and a throng of Qrterdactyls attack from the sky.
Meanwhile, the herbivore Uzimastodon eats an eggplant and discovers the answer to the question "are eggplants edible?" and a small herd of Samricorns are attacked by several Matusaurs.

i don't have any problems with firefox, but recently i was running soulseek and browsing xlt in firefox simultaneously, and then my DSL connection crashed, and i had to reset my modem. dunno how that happened, but for some reason i couldn't get to the rest of XLT that day.... odd...
