It's been a rather crap year for music in general, Simon
Reynolds (bigshot music geek author/journo) went as far to
say the "worst ever". I'd have to go with Jackson's "Smash"
in terms of electronic music. Daft Punk's new album grew on
me too.

well, smash is great, but i think i like ark's (guillaume
berroyer) 'caliente' even more. it's much in the same vein
which isn't a surprise since they're both from the same
scene.infact im writing a review in caliente at this very
moment and listening to music..one of better dance records
i've heard in quite a while!

Sweet, I'll check him out. I like the way Jackson's style is
electronica without falling into all those 90's post
Aphex/Autechre cliches.

they didn't have much to choose from...

COMMON - Be (Geffen, 2005)
BOARDS OF CANADA - The Campfire Headphase (Warp, 2005)
RY COODER - Chávez Ravine (Nonesuch, 2005)
SUSUMU YOKOTA - Symbol (Lo Recordings, 2005)

smash is a bit more full of everything than caliente, which
seems a bit simpler album on the first listen..but full of
excellent ideas, and well, great to MOVE TO :)

mastah, is you serious? most of the decent albums released
this year are on that list i think.

well, some albums that we get a hold of late are included in
next years lists. maybe that list is more of a this
particular radio list of albums that were presented during
the year..
