i've got this really shit record for recording gigs... and even if i do (like the vsnares one in dublin a few months ago)... i leave em on mindisc and don't bother to upload it... or like with squarpsuher at glade, bring a video camera and leave it in my tent.
so.. yes i'll record it!
(it at Frazers, O'Connel St.)

redrum sez:
no i don't think i will be, i don't really like ceephax. actually quite dislike the mofo. ovuca was quite good when he played supporting cylob though.
you missed a killer night last friday - it was a night of irish electronica downstairs in Frazers on o'connell st, for the birthday of one of the lads from lakker.
the other guy from lakker did a dj set for him for 2 hours. incredible. do you know squarepusher, i luv u (first time i'd heard it in a club and it was remarkable, but i imagine all the english people are probably sick of it by now), and *ALL* of 54 cymru beats (even the noise madness at the end) were just some of the highlights. y'should keep an eye on the irish electronica artists playing aboot the place, they put on some amazing shows (some are miles better than some big-name gigs i've been to) and they're a well-cheap night out.
I don't mean to sound like i'm lecturing you or anything, but it's just i've never seen you at any of these little gigs. :/

redrum....
i used to go to the lil gigs a lot more than i do these days... i guess i'm partied out somewhat. Bodkins, undercurrent, belvedere etc.. all great in their day. I still make lazybird once a month.
I've seen the lakker guys before and they are great. there is tons of stuff happening in the city alright but i genereally loo out for particular things these days or what mates recomend.
anyone playing autechre-type stuff these days? (Ae at Glasgow is blowing me away)
ToxikFB... i'll do my best to uplad the gig this weekend. If not i'll post you the MD to do it yourself if you like - you'll need to amp the volume up a bit but its not a bad recording... mu-ziq too.

Review:
So i arrived with a few mates and settled into some Guinness while someone played some background electronica. The place was empty enough at 10.30 bt Ceephax was sitting at the bar chatting to some foilks enjoying a pint and bopping his head. It was a dingy little venue off Dublins main street withn a russian disco happening upstairs - we were in the besement.
While the place filled up and the drink flowed, irish artist The Person came on and played a belter of a set on d'aul laptop. The place was well packed and people were dancing like crazy with plenty of santa hats and tinsle floating around. I went up to Andy and told himk how much i loved his movies and how it reminded me of real early pre-"mean streets" de niro stuff but he though i was havin a larf.
Ovuca came on next and for some reason the sound went a bit low which took away from most of the set to be honest.... twas dancey enough with some rephlexiness happening but just wasn't loud enough.
ThEy seemEd to have that sorted for the Ceephax who set hislef up in frpnt opf his box of tricks and balsted us all straight away with relentless acid action. He played much stuff similar to Resopnance FM set including the absolute blinding "Acid Varsity". H?e did a jingle bells acid spectacular and also had 2 ebcores. He didn;t go too nuts with the vocals.. just enouygh actually.... and had some Acid Quakers typo medoies going too.. with snippets of jungle/gabba here and there. He so much more suited to small venues is Ceephax. We took some (analog) snaps so will try and have em up around xmas. No recording i'm afraid cos i truly wasn't arsed. But all in all... a terrifc set

the person kicks hole. did an amazing live drill set warming up for chevron & exile, and his warm-up set for vibert in the hub wasn't at all bad either.
sounds like a great night though.
