British Comedy Awards

I am dissapointed that I live in a nation of such dumb
fuckwits. I now officially hate Little Britain. I don't know
how people can find it funny, it's fucking awful.

I understand that Peep Show wasn't even nominated, which is
unbelievable (Gervais couldn't believe it either) and Extras
should have done a clean sweep.

What has this nation come to?

It's good enough that the non-mainstream comedies are being
made and aired, they don't need British Comedy Awards. What
we do need is for Garth Marenghi to be released on DVD.

I don't really watch comedy TV any more, aside from Don't
Watch That, Watch This every now and then. Little Britain is
fucking dreadful.

little britain has just gone utterly crap, i dont see why
they made a 3rd series, only so far you can bring one line
jokes.i dont get too caught up in these "award" shows
anyway..load of bullshit..bah!

COMPUTER SAYS NO!

I WANT THAT ONE!

I AM A LADY!

All classic fucking lines. Pure comedy gold. I love
catchphrase comedy. It means that I don't have to think
while i am watching it. Just wait for the catchphrase and
laugh.

We need more stand up on telly. I've really been enjoying
Jack Dee at the Apollo.

My mum in-law loves Little Britain. She loves all of the
sick stuff too, yet... I bet if I farted in her living room,
I would never be allowed back. She's nearly 60.

She MUST only like it because she wants to be fasionable.
It makes me sick.

'Shame because George Doors from Shooting Stars was funny.

'the thick of it' won an award. this is good.

I like smart humour like The Thick of It and Brasseye, (not
Rory smug bastard Bremner and his two ageing commie mates)
but I also like "dumb" humour like Little Britain. What I
would really like though, is for Bernard Manning to get his
own show. Now that's what I call funn-neeee!

I bet he's comforted by his award this morning when he's
looking at the front pages

i don't know about extras, it felt really flat and showy.

and while i can just about handle david brent putting his
foot in his mouth with the black guy in the office (the
black man's cock joke), seeing him do it again with minority
after minority in extras makes me feel a bit sick. partly
because his character in extras is really hard to read...
he's not as much of a loser as brent, and something doesn't
quite work with his character.... and his sidekick is the
definition of annoying.

gervais's blatant careerism and dvd-pushing irks me too.

his peep show big up was welcome.. even though robert webb
doing the mcdonalds ads earlier this year was a horrible
shock. i can just about forgive him though, as it fits
nicely into his peep show alter-ego.

oh yeah! look at this

The Mitchell and Webb Situation

last peep show tonight :(

I've watched three episodes of Peep Show and found it
extremely dull and unfunny.

i probably like it a bit *too* much, so to make up for this
imbalance you're the poor sod who doesn't like it all.

Possibly. I find it annoying rather than just bad.

But where can he go now? I liked Extras. He has to work
around the fact that he's massive now. Comedy doesn't exist
in a bubble, and playing a loser wannabe actor is a nice
touch for somone so famous. Leave him alone, he's taken us
out of the surreal, PC comedy of the 90's.

"curb your enthusiasm" has raised the bar..... and little
britain is miles away from it... its a one-trick sketch
show

jam, green wing, bigtrain and the like...... more please!

yeah i suppose i'm being a bit hyper-critical, but only
because the office was so ruddy brilliant.

it's peter kay that i should be verbally abusing.. max and
paddy was the most shockingly bad thing i've ever seen. and
i really liked his stuff a few years ago

Yeah, Max and Paddy was dissapointing to say the least.
Bernard Manning will always be the best Northern comedian
ever anyway. lol

it's just an awards show, it doesn't mean anything. I enjoy
watching them to see what an arse the presenter makes of
him.herself. In this case, Jonathon Ross.. so even more
incentive. It's just a bit of entertainment. Jonathon Ross
was a bit off with his jokes though. They were a bit
shitter than usual.

fantastic phoenix nights
