nice song playing on the site. beck is one of my favorite
artists ever.
i don't know about guerolito though, i hate all the guero
remixes except for broken drum which is really beautiful.

beck is the man. i never got around to getting "Sea Change"
but i like the version of "it's all in your mind" that is
one there. really beautiful.

beck is awesome, really great musician.

staz: i think most of these are new, i was hoping it would
have the remixes from the hell yes 12" which are really
good, but only one is on there (ghettochip malfunction).

oddio: get sea change!!! it is a beautiful album, slow and
sad but worth it. i didn't get into it for a while but when
i finally bought it i was amazed.
(the original version of all in your mind is, imo, better
for its folky oldness)

ghettochip malfuction is my favorite remix of those. quite
good. i love all of beck's releases, although guero is my
least favorite. my favorites would probably be one foot in
the grave, mellow gold, midnight vultures and golden
leftovers. sea change is great, but i rarely listen to it
cause it's so "heavy" in a way. i like the bizarre,
psychedelic beck the most. the old lyrics. they all capture
a very definitive feeling. very unique. lovely feelings
being expressed. lots of vivid humor. precise
sentimentality.

but it's all good. and this material on the site sounds
really fucking nice.

also, "midnite vultures" (the track) must be one of my
favorite tunes by his. i just felt like sharing that, for
some reason.

yes, both versions each have their own charm. i love how
beck can do a lot of different styles comfortably, and
successfully.

my favorite song by beck has to be "derelict." he's not
using any vinyl samples, he's just doing all that crazy work
himself. just an eerie, narciliptically awesome song.

i saw him live on my birthday this year - i highly highly
HIGHLY suggest anyone who gets a chance bares the HIGH price
and pays it - he's AMAZING live

they amplified a dinner table and his band made backing
tracks using the cuttlery / plates / etc - it was NUTS !

guerolito is pretty lame considering i had these remixes
already - but whatever...

Hello, euphonicfilter. What's your fav+ Beck album? Mine's
"Midnight Vultures" I'm loving the Rick James early eighties
influence on it. I didn't like his stuff much after that
though, got a bit bland.

weird i consider midnight vultures his worst album

i like mellow gold & odelay - theyre a great mish/mash of
styles and never really sit still (great for a short
attention span like me) - but his other albums, mutations /
sea changes / guero - have some AMAZING songs on them
too...though as albums they're less consistent

one foot in the grave i dont really consider one of his
albums...but it has its moments too !

I dunno, with Midnight Vultures he seemed to take it to the
next level with really punchy, fun, party music and some
nice little electronic flourishes. It seemed to be the next
logical step for him. As for his acoustic stuff, I much
prefer the early one foot in the grave/mellow gold tracks to
"Sea Change" I only really liked "Paper Tigers".

well...on all of his albums beside mid. vult. he had a very
distinct beck flare / style

on mid. vult. he cashed that in for ripping off prince - it
didnt do anything for me - there already is a prince we dont
need another - the album just feels amazingly cheesey and
annoying - its like its marketed to teenage girls or little
kids (yes even though "sexx laws" is the first track)

its like there is some terrible party in the suburbs where
white girls who wear abercrombie & fitch clothing and are on
the track team and are 15 are dancing around their retarded
football team boyfriend singing

at least...what?

I don't don't think that's fair, he was ripping off Prince
and Rick James!
;)

well coming from someone who doesnt think much of prince,
besides that i find his music hilarious i guess my
conclusions about other people doing prince (haha...doing
prince) would be logical, in that i dont care for it

though that may just be on the hell yes remix ep and not on
this little guero (small sandwich) HAHAHA

the only 8-bit remix on guerolito is hell yes, which is
amazing. but the hell yes ep is really worth mentioning,
those are really good tracks.

so i bought this, the mixes are pretty good, much different
than the album. it's like a bastardized version of guero,
the track listing is the same. so far it's pretty good, the
hell yes remix alone was worth the $10 i paid for it.

"weird i consider midnight vultures his worst album"
> me too. i love all the others, but midnite vultures is
unequal... some tracks are great, some are just average in
my opinion.

"but the hell yes ep is really worth mentioning, those
are really good tracks."

> definitely! : )
the remixes of hell yes and of e-pro on the
hell yes ep are amazing. the e-pro one if one of the best
songs of 2005, as good if not better as the original.

"beck sux"
> no, this post sucks. (and maybe you too.) what's even the
point of posting this? grow up please.

"beck is one of my favorite artists ever."
> yup. he's really great. : )

"except for broken drum which is really beautiful."
> really? ' _ ' i thought that broken drum remix wasn't too
good. (but that's not really a surprise, since i already
find that boards of canada aren't too good and that broken
drum was the least good track on guero. oh well. i will stop
bitching now, beck is really great.)

"Que' Onda Guero" more accuratley depicts hispanic los
angeles more than any other song ive ever heard. my favorite
lyric is

"Yeah now I'm going to LACC
I'm taking a ceramics class"

yeah, beck is good. got all his cds and listen to them
heaps.
guero wasnt my favourite release, .. though im kiiinda
liking it more (used to hate it). though, guerolito could be
good cos bocs remix is awesome (they got a boring repetetive
song and made it bliss, imo). and its got some other fun
moments : D
hell yes is being released as a single soon.
id LOVE it if the cd single had the 8bit remixes, ...
