Hi, I joined a while ago but laid dormant for a while because of a long period of computer breakdowns. I love the usual grand masters of electronic music (Autechre especially, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canda, Brian Eno, Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre and many more) as well as some lesser known composers. I also love Laurie Anderson's work and draw great inspiration from her. Philip Glass must be mentioned here as a great composer- try 'Satyagraha' and 'Knee Play 4'. Try 'Eros Machine from 1969 for Jarre, September 14, Calypso 2 and Ethnicolor 2. For Vangelis try El-Greco and Mask. These are some great works that some people here may not know well. I also make music and it's going pretty well online (but equipment-wise I remain without an studio set-up, with the computer again down!). Lazy link attached- What else? ... I studied Political Science and Sociology and am now doing postgraduate work in philosophy writing about biology for a New Zealand journal (Rutherford Journal). Just started vermicomposting!
