im bored and lacking my computer, so browsing through my cds i decided to throw this in.
what a fucking insult. the sound quality is awful, and theres hardly any difference from the album tracks.
and how many times will tom pause a milisecond sample and scream "MAKE SOME FUCKING NOISE!" to a bunch of japanese people?

at least when i saw him on the uv tour he pulled out the bass and wailed on it, which is certainly a sight to be seen

no he didn't play the bass, he mimed it. he was the first person to use the tb-303 sound whilst miming, i can't believe you didn't already know that

Squarepusher is a damn good Bassist.
Video of Squarepusher playing bass
Another video of Squarepusher playing bass
Also he has pretty much nails Jaco's tone. Listen to this clip of Jaco and compare it to some of Sqaurepusher's songs in Burningn'n Tree:

I seem to be one of the few who love that alive in japan cd.
It was on his "go plastic" tour and that was his non-bass-playing year where he kept it digital. I have afew live mp3's form that year and this Japan one is quite similar to them all but they all have slight differences while maintaining that squarepusher buzz. I love this one cos he slows down "exploding psychology" beautifully and the crowd is the most responsive that i've heard and i guess thats a big reason why it was that particular concert they recorded.
I hjave hear dbetter version sopf red-hot car, my fucking sound and the like on other live sets but as a showcase of his go plastic album.. i think this one has the most energy.
Of course his UV tour livesets are much more bass orientated which allowed him top play old faves too. I especially love the Liquid rooms set from 98 which is full of HND tunes an dlive bass. They should put that on disc to sell.
Nice live video clips by the way!

meh. its pretty unimaginative - the trax are almost entirely like the album ones - with the odd tempo change. sometimes it sounds like tom is arguing with the audience
