i usually dislike hyped artists, but aphex is another
story..more hype there is around him better it makes me feel
:) there's so much to his music, but some people (qrter)
just don't want to admit it :)

just listenig to breezeblock set and its so fucking great.

the ultimate trusim is .. its ALL about the music. evrything
else, the vids, image, jokes, mediia is utterly fluff
but....
because aphex has touched it, its ok and can be enjoyed too.
He really has a magic that touches things.....
When i think of all those folks who, when they hear RDJ
thse days, dismiss it as noise, or topo harsh or not right,
i can't help thinking its as bad denying you were once a
child.

I just don't get it, Goran - you listen to lots of music
that is so much more interesting than what he has produced.

I have, therefore, come to the conclusion that smoking all
that dope has finally destroyed your brain.

i know you're joking about the dope..

as for music..i find it interesting as well actually.
there's this pop form to his songs that im not a big fan of
when it comes to other musicians, but in his case there's
something different to it. i can't quite say what it is,
just something that makes it incredibly interesting for
me...and i don't think it has much to do with the fact it's
aphex..well, a little surely, but i doubt i would be enjoing
it this much just for the sake of who made it.

i like nirvana as well, remember, i guess there's a bit of
similarity in their and rdj's music and why i like it..

illness, even though he has 74 albums worth of amazing music
that he doesn't want to release incase it get ripped off
it's true because he posts on watmm and he told a friend of
the guy who runs my idmz net label but vsnares is better
anyway i met him at a festival and he's gonna do some more
amen tracks etc, etc

It's encouraging that young tolstoyed, who owns over
8,000,000,000 records from one end to the other of the
cultural spectrum, still rates The Twin as the best. I rate
Aphex the best, ever since I first heard him back... back..
what.. 13 years ago? I can still listen to everything he's
ever released and never be let down.

I only hope he does come round some time to doing another
proper album.

It depends on what you're into, but he does have a knack of
seeming to make amazing music, like it's just something he
threw together on a rainy afternoon.

haha, wasn't someone (vibert?) talking about that in that
recent breezeblock thing? how he heard this afx song and
thought it was the most amazing song he ever heard and then
later he found out aphex put it together in like two hours?
:)

Aphex Twin was the first artist to get me interested in
electronic music -- and he'll always remain one of the great
composers of the late 20th century in my mind. Never did I
think that i could get into an album with virtually no beats
(ambient works, vol. II)

I think a lot of people in the 90's, even good musicians,
felt like they had to conform to the trappings of a
particular genre. Aphex just did whatever the fuck he liked,
and did it well.

There's a stereotype of a lot of dance music being made in
bedrooms. Do you do a lot of that yourself?

Yeah, I can't do music anywhere else. It's got to be in the
bedroom basically. You get to do tracks in the nude and if
you're working in the studio, you just can't do that.

i bet studio operators are used to seeiing musicians playing
in nude..dunno where's the problem in that btw :)

Aphex Twin dismissed going on tour with Radiohead: "I
wouldn't play with them since I don't like them."

that just made me like him 10% more! <3
