Fans of The Caretaker may be interested to know that the
latest release, Theoretically Pure Anterograde Amnesia can be freely downloaded, in
full, without restriction.

If you've not heard any before, it's sort of haunting 1920s
ballroom music, in an ambient style. Very atmospheric and
unsettling. Enjoy.

he nearly made them bankrupt last year when vvm released
remixes of relax. as you may have noticed, he also ordered
all copies, mp3 and any evidence of the record to be
destroyed.

I thought we weren't meant to talk about that
release? ;)

Humourless fucker isn't he? I suggest everyone should
boycott Tatu in retaliation...

DLing badly photoshopped pictures of them doesn't count as
breaking the boycott in my books...

Downloading all 500mb of that album now, Ceri - thanks for
the heads-up a year and a bit ago.

You're welcome.

I've got no. 53 of the first 250 ltd. editions of
this.

On a rainy afternoon, put all 6 discs on shuffle in a
multichange CD player . It's superb.

Incidentally, my biggest regret gig-wise is missing The
Caretaker's second (and quite possibly last) live show last
year.

Hm, I wonder what a live show would be like. From what I can
guess about his technique (lots of convolution reverb, for
one thing) it doesn't lend itself to improvisation a la
Snares or Tim Exile.

I think it would be awesome to have one held in a ballroom
with a strict formal dress code and have him DJing with 2
old gramophone styled turntables.

Ha! Yes, with the big horns and all. I suppose you could
mike them with those little clip mikes that sax players use,
or maybe condenser mikes would be better, and some baffles
or a booth between The Caretaker and the PA.

Check out the "A stairway to the stars" album. The track
Emptiness off it is superb, probably my favourite one by The
Caretaker. I used to open and close DJ sets with it.
