does anyone remember Darkplace? - an absolutely quality
6-part surreal comedy set in a hospital in the middle of a
moor. was on channel 4 really late, a few years ago. Ive
never seen it available on DVD or video. does anyone
remember it? is it possible to track it down?

My DVD has just arrived. Not had a chance to watch it yet,
but there are supposed to be 2 documentaries on it in the
extras. It was v. cheap on play.com £7, I think.

Awesome, I made a thread about the DVD being out a few days
back and got zero (count 'em!) replies! :@

"Zilty: It's one big popularity contest."

Only jesting. Have you watched the extras yet? Any good?

The extras are rather entertaining -- basically just talking
heads (as in, the actors in character talking about the show
etc)... a deleted scene or so, haven't listened to the
character commentaries yet.

Something I liked about the original was the way that they
would often slow-mo it and talk over the top as though it
was the director's commentary on some smash TV series. If
the director's commentary is in this style, it should be
hilarious.

Funnily enough, the excessive use of slo-mo is mentioned in
the first doc -- because they were often as much as 20
minutes short per episode or something... they put it
funnier, of course.
