Can we have a thread where we just chat, ideally with me,
and then later gets discarded, only... I'm a bit whipsy and
feel I'm barking into the void. I can start a topic, I
can... something about... something like, um,... I don't
know, your stance on fucked up beats, or melodies? Or both?

No, i never have gone skiing ever, I fancy going to a bar or
restaurant up a mountain, and have a Bond moment, but I
can't see me going on the piste (i would get pissed though)

I'm listening to Grace Jones now, as featured on Duran Duran
off shoot band 'Arcadia' and their track "Election Day".

A Bond moment would entail me drinking martinis and
imagining I was Bond, in a suitably Bond-ish location.

Hi Hanal. Thanks for you interest in the rude, largely
internet based entity that is dog_blech. Thanks for your
questions, here, all the team behind d_b took a few welcome
moments away from working to answer your quiz... I hope you
enjoy our answers and we hope you continue to enjoy d_b's
hilarious antics on Zilty for many years to come...

Fav b-side: Wow, tricky one, general consensus was
"Whipsnade" from Suede's comeback single "We are the pigs".
I know, don't go there.

Food: Curry, easy, hands down.

Street name: Bellenden Ave, a road in Peckham which I
used to pass often when I lived that way.

Singer: Ohhh, Bowie. I love him especially when he does the
full on cliche Bowie "oooowwwoowwhh" , genius.

Synth: The one my dad bought then promptly returned to his
mate at work. I had ait for a week and write about 4 proto
IDM tracks on it, I COULD HAVE BEEN TEH APHEX.

Colour: I used to say red but now it's green, I hope that
doesn't upset anybody.

Nice Bowie bits that spring to mind:

-that bit in "always crashing in the same car" where he
goes "hotel garage".
-all of breaking glass
-andy warhol
-"i'm not a prophet or a stone age man, just a mortal with
potential of a superman, i'm living on"
-singing "my death" live.
-space oddity/ashes to ashes

I bought "scary monsters" a few days ago. just about the
only (and of itself a worthy enough) reason for this is
"ashes to ashes".

I should get a dvd with his videos - the "ashes to ashes"
video is swell too.

in fact - I'll change into an "ashes to ashes" avatar right
now.

that video looks really odd. those effects that were used
wouldn't be completely out of place in some old rave track
video.

yes, it's quite.. weird.

I remember seeing it as a young lad and it wasn't exactly
scary, more kind of.. disconcerting, kind of reminded me of
dreaming in some way.

good morning, is anybody out there/here ?

Take a fish
And a potato
Hold the fish
And the potato
In your hand
In your hand

Put the potato
In the fish
Make it digest it
Smash it up
Smash it up

Smash it up
Smash it up

This is how you make fishcakes
This is how one makes fishcakes

Wooah, wooah, Wooooo, back up, back up... "Scary Monsters"
contains not only the genius that is "Ashes to ashes",
but... "It's no game" ("To be insulted by these fascists,
it's so degrading") (both verisons) Up a hill backwards,
Teenage Wildlife, .. Fashion. ALL VERY GOOD.

yeah, when I posted it I thought "oh god no I phrased it

I meant for ME it was at the time the only reason, which is
enough. AT THE TIME, mind you, AT THE BLOODFUCKING TIME.

I've spoken to Grace Jones a number of times.

She's making a new album with a producer called Ivor Guest,
and I met him and he allowed me to some minor things on 2
tracks of the CD. I've also spoken to Phil Shepard, who
arranged the strings on what will probably be the sing for
the album-The Devil In My Life (...I'm not sure that will be
the actual title of the track, it's just what she sings in
it over and over again.)
