Cakewalk is a software company, so is Ableton.

I believe the new version of sonar is supposed to be very
nice. A friend of mine uses it, but only to do drums for
his metal.

my mate uses it together with Reason. he says it's a very
good setup - and almost convinced me to try it. why not.

I use Cakewalk Sonar3. I've tried Logic and Cubase, too, and
they're great....

But there's something about Sonar's interface that I just
love, and it has many advanced features just like Logic and
Cubase. I'd highly recommend it; it's easy to use, powerful,
and the producer edition comes with some great plugins.
