I've got some vinyls that are warped. I received them from juno, so I guess they should be alright. The needle jumps a bit and make a frr sound. Is there a way to do something about it ? For instance by pulling a lot of weight on them ?

Nope, last time it was about "why is there a FRRR sound" and i found out that it was necuz of the warped vinyls. I learnt then that I shouldn't put too much weight on the tonearm.
Now I want a solution from the vinyl point of view.

you can flatten them out if you put them in your shelves with your other records and slowly they'll flatten. there's other procedures where you heat them between glass plates in an oven, but i'm too scared to do that. you gotta get the heat just right cuz you need to warm the vinyl up so it's malliable, but not so much that the grooves melt.
i'd say just do it the slow and painstaking way of time and pressure...however, you could experiment with leaving something heavy on it and leaving it in the sun or something...

juno are great dealing with complaints. just email them. they will either ask you to send them back, or send you another copy.

hmm... if your vinyl is wonky right out of the box send it back and get not-wonky ones. If it's wonky because you sat them on your knee for the whole duration of a car journey on a hot summer day from Nottingham to Appleby try softening them in the oven on a very low temperature for a few minutes, or a very hot temperature for a few seconds and putting them between a flower press, or a couple of big childrens books until they're less wonky. But don't expect them to play perfect afterwards. And don't sell them on ebay as "near mint unplayed" or I'll kick your arse.

The best way is to get two sheets of glass, sandwich the record between them and put them in a warm place. Out in the sun worked for me but I guess putting them on top of your cooker when the oven is on would work. Don't put them in the oven they will compleatly squash.
I hope this helps, tell me how you get on.

I'm not too interested by this oven solution. I'm afraid of destroying the wax.

Or, to put it another way, put an end to this stupid deliberate flaming. People who don't like each other should just avoid each other and not rise to bait.

Well that is a very serious and unfounded allegation, and I will be making a statement to the House based on the preliminary enquiry next week.
