First off, is the An200 the only piece of gear you have running thru your UNO? If you have 5 or 6 different pieces of gear, chances are the synths at the end of the chain aren't getting full ammounts of midi data because the signal deteriorates for every piece of gear it passes through in a chain. Probly the best way to tell if your synths midi is working is by connecting it to something else that sends and then recieves midi data. If both sending an receiving work properly in that case, its probly either the midi router or the computer. So, if thats not the case, it might be something as simple as making sure the drivers for your uno are properly installed on your computer, so try reinstalling it, and any updates that maudio may have released. |

BTW, reinstalling updates from maudio should get your midi up to speed and fix the problem. Also, try plugging you UNO into a different USB port before you reinstall. If you have another computer handy, try testing out the uno with another piece of gear, just to make sure that that is working. |

Try asking somebody . There are a few an200 users there, they will know what to do. |

under mac os 9, maudio's "uno" midi device was not a supported device... and under the an200 editor program i use to control the synth, the OMS system setup would only detect a modem line or a printer line... so i had to get a serial midi cable from my music store and re- do the midi setup on the actual an200. |

Gotcha. Makes sence. Using gear with a computer sequencer is definately to get the best sound out of your music. I got off computers for music because I was tired of looking at a screen and using a mouse, but it takes much longer to do things now (less flexibility). If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the an200? How is the sequencer/drum sounds? I have become a bit of a fan of yamaha gear with all the dx and tx synthesizers. I am currently waiting for a courier to drop off an sy22 to me today. <3 ebay :D |

two years ago, i ordered the an200 from musiciansfriend.com at closeout price brand new, for $200 USD + (free shipping)... so it was all in all a great deal for something that can do a whole lot in a small machine. now for drum sounds... i really want to be able to manipulate them easier... i am happy with the drum sounds, effects and all... the gate effect the an200 has is handy when speeding the tempo up in a track and making things sound easier instead of having the same sampled sound played long and stretched out, you can cut off the end off the sound (crisper).... but the an200 isn't know for it's drum sounds... get it because of the live tweakableness of the synth... i composed ten to fifteen tracks for music school with the an200 and a midi keyboard controller... and recorded all the knob adjustments and all... was really pleased with the 3 vco and various effects you can put on the patch. you get two "free eg" control parameters that you can move back and forth so, for instance, a lfo on channel 1 can be tweaked and the portamento could be controlled on channel 2. |

also... if only the an200 had a s/pdif or adat optical or a better sound output range, rather than just a headphone out, left & right(stereo) 1/4" outs... that would make it way better. |

Gotcha. Yeah, I wouldn't be getting one of these for the drum sounds, but its always nice to have a machine that can make a kick drum that allows you to envelope the filters and pitch :) Like I said earlier, I am really in the market for a dx200, but I wouldn't mind the an200. When I am looking around on synth sites, I get about 50/50 great/ok reviews, but its always good to hear mention from people that you read from more than once every half year or so. UPS just arrived with my synth. I am really excited to try out this synth that I just got. Its my first full keyboard with midi out, and its a vector synthesizer, so I expect to spend a couple days in front of it, just working things out :) |
