After my departure from Sub Pop Records in June of this year I took a spiritual journey to find my ancestral roots in the continent known as Eurasia. As I traveled I became more in touch with myself and began to realize that there are bigger things to life then money and so called “Indie Cred.” As I returned to New York for the CMJ festival I became aware of how much working in the music industry can be a soul sucking experience. At the tender age of 25 I was already jaded. Seeing my older friends in the music biz withering away into marriage and other such vices it dawned on me that it was time to take a different path. With the recent hurricanes and the horrors of war going on in our society and around the globe I believe that as Americans we all need to start giving more then we have taken. I believe that as a man you should lead by example so for my first foray into “world betterment” as I like to call it I have decided to start my own publicity and marketing company. I know you’re probably thinking I’m crazy or some wild 60’s throwback looking to dropout of society and start a new way of livin, and honestly I’ve had my doubts as well. I mean I love steak dinners on the company card just as much as you do. But sometimes you have to step back and ask yourself "Should I have ordered the Swordfish?" So without further ado please welcome Dudes PR to the world of indie rock promotion. Of course starting a revolution ain’t cheap so to get myself up and running I’m offering up for bid one un-played gold record for the Postal Service’s smash hit album “Give Up.” This is a real RIAA certified gold record. You can't just buy these you have to know a lot about music to get one. |

As you can see this record was awarded to me for my help in selling 500,000 copies of the album. I did the math on it and figured out that I’m responsible for 24,871 copies sold. I’m gonna be fair here and say that Sub Pop makes 5 dollars per album sold and since I contributed about 1/20 of the work on this I am owed $6217.14 cents. This is reflected in my reserve. As you can see the record is in mint condition. Usually these things have lots of scratches from razor blades and things like that. Don’t get me wrong, I like partying, but I also have an Iron Maiden mirror that I got at the fair a few years ago. As a free gift I’m also including this burned copy of the Postal Service “Give Up” record. I’ll remind you that this is a gift to my new friend. It was brought to Sub Pop when we first decided to put out the record. Oh imagine the mid level A&R hands this must have been touched by! It would be a very nice display piece next to your gold record. Kinda like an egg and then chicken sorta deal. I know you’re thinking that it’s just a burned cd and you’d be right. And since you’re such a genius you’ll probably remember that someone bought a cheese sandwich off this website.
