im into melodic stuff but its gotta be edgy and fucked up at
the same time i guess, and no screechy hi pitched noises, i
hate that about some artist (incl. aphex)

crunch: album: "1" sometimes called "nullpluze"...

otto von schirach: album: "8000 bc"

Actually if you love melodic stuff try sense... the album...
uh... view from a vulnerable place,... I just ordered it so
don't know what all the songs sound like but "the ear of the
behearer" really did it for me. also www.mp3.com/imaginary
is really melodic, but not really fucked up. mp3.com/hanniz
is pretty fucked up and has some good melodies also orange
dust has a lot of melody and is pretty fucked up.

Are Jam & Spoon still going?...

For some reason I've had their The Complete Stella CD EP
sitting on my desk at work for the last few years...

On R&S from fucking 1992...gulp..

I feel old now...;)

And sitting under it is the Auto Reload Ep from Global
Communication (the guys who did the remix of ON & also, Tom
Middleton was the other Aphex Twin on the first Aphex Twin
release... credited as Schizophrenia...)...

Why these 2 have been sitting here for so long I dunno....

stella is from the album 2001... i think back then it was
like oooooooo 2001, floating cars... or something, but i
love it, i normal hate straight techno but jam & spoon were
great

i dont think they are going anymore tho

Jam & Spoon have put out some cheesy Euor shit as Storm
haven't they?

They did a brilliant remix of Go by Moby - really dubby. Can
be found on Nick Warren's Back to Mine compilation.

Yeah I bought Innovator. Strings of Life is amazing.

"Strings of Life is amazing."...

Understatment of the decade... gotta love Mr May tho he
hasn't put out any new stuff for years...(or has he?)...

And yeah, this Stella EP has 2 mixes by Moby on it...kinda
sweet as well...

Yo teapot!

I recently got Andreas Tilliander in a bargain bin - very
lovely minimal glitch techno .. sort of a more mechanical
approach to pole - less dub also (ie minimal minimal).

You can download some tracks of Otto von Schirach from
Schematic [www.schematic.net] - "The Boombonic Plague" -
also very cool

perhaps most to your liking tho: i highly recommend some
Funkstörung - esp. Appetite for Disctruction, or Vice Versa
(which are mixes) .. v v fucken cool

um .. yeah .. Funkstörung definetly rock my spot. :)

I really like Plastikman/Ritchie Hawtin and would like to
hear more stuff in a similar minimal vein. Any suggestions?

Oh yeah and I've already got the Bombfunk MCs album so don't
bother

Are Funstorung the people who did remixes of the Wu-Tang

jonesy - i take it you have DE9 - quite a nice album.

um.. Andreas Tilliander (aforementioned) is a slightly more
abstract approach to the minimal thing .. well worth looking
into :)

almost forgot .. you might quite like Delarosa + Asora
(incase it hasn't been mentioned b4) - i've got Agony pt. 1
which is quite cool!

to hear a load of miniml techno/glitchy stuff...

Unsure of what label this series is on tho...

jonesy:

funkstörung - yup thats them .. altho i don't reckon they
are the most representative releases.

also - i will be uploading some trax on www.mp3.com/polc3d -
polc[]d- soon which are very much in the same vain as
plastikman. :)

Cheers guys.

I heard bits of that remix set in a record shop. It was
really weird. Well it was then. Isn't it weird how you
listen to something and don't like it, then go back to it a
year later, after haing heard other stuff, you hear it with
new ears.

I see listening to music as a learning process. Well kind
of. I bought the RDJ album years ago and thought "what the
fuck is this?" It stayed on my shelf for about another year
or so. Then I played it again and really got into it.
Strange.
