I like Miles. I don't own this recording, but was very close
to buying it once. Now i'm regreting it over and over
again.

"Nefertiti" and "In a silent way" is alsoo good. And what
about "A kind of Blue"?

Still the absolute shit. Miles has released an incredible
amount of great albums, but this is still the best. The flow
of these songs is unmatched, I can't believe they've
actually been edited.

one of the creative highlights in musical history. i have to
be in the right mood to appreciate it though. but when i am,
there's nothing that can top it.

props for the artwork too, btw. it's as brilliant as the
record itself.

I prefer his first recordings, workin' steamin' relaxin'
cookin'...
Straight jazz from the 60s!

Fussion never did it for me...

Got the record anyway. Almost 20 by Miles...

I recommend "Ascenseur pour le Chafaud" (or something like
that). A soundtrack recorded in a take while watchin' the
movie and jammin'... Quite a curious record...

Now, after 2 years I'm much more into Coltrane' mid-60's
sound. Unmatched; raw and truly spiritual.

Then go for the Miles Quintet with Coltrane on sax...

yeah, coltrane's stuff with 1st quartet and then second one
are immense..it's when he got into free jazz and some of his
recording are the best from that period

It makes me feel sick, but in a good way. Miles Smiles is
also really good (possibly my favorite right now).

miles davis live at the fillmore east march 7 1970 is hands
down THE best live album i have ever heard, too.

you only say that because you haven't heard coltrane's
'ascension'..it isn't neccessarily a live album but they did
jam it out!

ascension is amazing!!!

Whenever I have trouble sleeping I put on Ascension. By the
time the first version is over, all stress is gone and I can
do my thang. Having said that, Freddie Hubbard's solos are
my least favorite of the bunch. FUSION.

Coltrane blows Miles Davis out of the water, and Miles Davis
is awesome.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. There’s still plenty of meat on that
bone. Now you take this home, throw it in a pot, add some
broth, a potato. Baby, you’ve got a stew going.

I always though Coltrane didn't quite reach Miles' level of
... formulation, but he's still one of my favorite jazz
musicians. On the Corner is disliked? I didn't know that, I
think it's quite good. Can get a bit tiring sometimes, but
still has a lot of good parts.

I love jazz, Miles is Jesus but I preffer, atm, a bit of
Dexter Gordon. Saxophones can turn things hot.

Ok, I enjoy hard-bop also.

MILES WAS A COOL GUY, WE COMPLETED MARIO BROS 2 TOGETHER.
TAKIN TURNS TO PLAY EACH LEVEL AND SHIT. COURSE, THE WHOLE
TIME HE WAS COMPLAINING THAT IT WASN'T A REAL MARIO GAME
LIKE THE JAPANESE VERSION OF MARIO 2, BUT I DIDN'T REALLY
GIVE A FUCK CAUSE IT WAS A FUN GAME ANYWAYS.
