read it and weep
no talent, puss for brains, corperate lap dog Paul WS Anderson is writing AND Directing this movie. i'm not a big fan of that game so i don't care as much as i did when he ruined Resident Evil and AvP respectively...
again seriously, if you live in the UK and seriously see this guy out in the street or in a pub somwhere, RO-SHAM-BO him several times...then take a shit on his eye balls...that'll be equal to what he's done to a few franchises that could have been way better than he made them...

I'm still weeping over the fact that the director of The Tuxedo did Aeon Flux.

Castlevania isn't being treated right. Curse of Darkness just came out for PS2 and it might be the worst CV ever, they fixed none of the flaws that made Lament of Innocence so average and made the game even worse in other areas. And now Paul Woefully Shitty Anderson is going to tarnish its legacy even more.
The DS Castlevania looks great though. They're still putting out superb 2D CVs, at least.

the castlevania series needs more popularity, if konami want to continue making them at the rate they have so far, and if it takes a shitty movie to get people to play some of the new or old games then I'm all for it.

hint: any new videogame or movie that is a new remake of something awesome and old school is very likely shit only made to cash in on the popularity of the previous name. This marketing tactic has become so recurrent as to be annoying as email spam.

A sad day indeed. A film of Castlevania needs Bruce Campbell as Simon Belmont, badass CGI throughout, awesome sets, including a dilapidated clocktower, a load of Castlevania/Konami fan in-jokes and of course either Sam Raimi or George Romero directing. It also needs a tie in videogame to come out at the same time and for that game to be 2d in gameplay, even if it's 3d graphics (like the new Ghouls and Ghosts).

i hear you on the fact its all cashing in...but don't you agree that these flicks with maybe a shred of creative thought and a little work...even remakes could be really good? resident evil could have been shot realistically...ie no stupid matrix bullet time shots...character development...and maybe the first 1000 edits and cuts wouldn't take place in the first 4 milliseconds of the movie. i like movies that take time to develop...as well as the characters. but its like they have to make a retarded version for younger audiences.
like doom. one of my co-workers... he's 22 and was ranting and raving about how great the movie doom was. he dupped 2 others into going to see it...me being one of them. i knew going in it was a steaming piece of shit. apparently me and only one other person in an audience of 50 thought it was the funniest thing we'd ever seen...we were ripping on the movie...and i was fearing the younglings were going to tear us limb for limb but they just sat there...glued to the screens.
i hate hollywood
oh yea and fuck CGI
