whatever the hell they want to listen to. but you'll find the most hippies at these shows: widespread panic string cheese incident moe big wu phish (although they're broken up so it'd be something like their side projects which include oysterhead, trey anastasio's band, and the jazz mandolin project) grateful dead medeski martin and wood umphree mcgee younder mountain string band i used to listen to all these groups, but i was never a hippy, they just have good jams. i still listen to a few of them now and then. |

but... there other bands in existence who play different types of music, and these bands "jam", but they are NOT "jam bands", AND they're good. but all the bands you listed are really shit. so if someone wants to listen to "good jams", they should listen to good bands jamming, not shit bands playing hippie shit with lyrics about getting high with frogs and bullshit like that. |

i used to be into those bands back in like 8th grade. the only ones i still listen to are medeski martin and wood and the grateful dead. the only grateful dead albums i'll listen to are "wake of the flood," "blues for allah" and "terripin station." "wake of the flood" is one of my favorite albums of all time. |
